Miss St lost at homme in the Supers last year to the runner up. I think they have just as much experience as LSU

It is a symptom of the mindset that allows teams to choke. You start hoping for the easiest path. Meanwhile, you forget that this team has played its best baseball down the stretch with its back against the wall.

We got out of the regional in 3. But the team showed many signs of letting the moment be too big for them. I'm hoping they view MSU as a threat.

My first thought as well.
It's the competitive nature of sports for a team to respond extremely well after an embarrassment such as what we subjected MSU to in the last series

I don't know in what competitive sport would the team who got beat down at home feel more confident the 2nd time around.
1/9/12 says hello. Still, I like that LSU knows exactly what they are getting this weekend in Mississippi State. If this were the second of two regular season series, then, yes, it might be concerning that the Dogs would have a revenge motive. But this is for a trip to the CWS. LSU has more pitching depth and should have plenty of motivation to carry it through to win the SR.

we have that same advantage they have

Which one of our coaches knows the strengths and weaknesses of every one of their hitters?

Not that it helped them much in Starkville, but that was more due to epic pitching fails.

Umm... yeah. It was a response to this:

The key term there was "what competitive sport". Still confused?

Mainieri is motivated to stick it to Andy. Might be the best matchup you could ask for.

Yep. And LSU had Les Miles in both games that were played against Alabama that season. Your point is irrelevant.

Kentucky knew we were going to get revenge on them embarrassing us. It's called pride and psychological advantage.

Sure we are better and will probably win, but you can't ignore the other side coming in ready for revenge. We have the home field and we are red hot. I expect more heart ache for MSU.

You don't think PM knows the strengths and weaknesses of every one of theirs lol ? Every coach knows their opponent well if they are worth a shite as a coach

This team plays up to stiff competition...all year they have lost to lesser teams mid-week for no good reason. I would rather be playing somebody the Tigers will be up for than a Coastal Carolina type that they feel they can beat in their sleep. I actually see the Moo State matchup as a good thing.

Baseball

Agreed. It all starts with the guy on the mound. In this case, our guys are better.

It's incredibly dumb

You never want to play a good SEC team in the post season that you beat in the regular season.

There is nothing "dumb" in not wanting teams to have had the advantage gained in playing you before or having a hard on for you because of the way the first series played out.

At least its in Baton Rouge.

Case in point, Texas Southern. We clearly weren't focused for that one, but fortunately were still able to win. It's much harder to see us not being ready to play an SEC opponent with a trip to Omaha on the line.
