We have pitching, we just don't have depth. Pilkington is a hell of a pitcher and has been all year. shite, Billingsley threw a 1 run CG yesterday. Cole Gordon can be good if he gets in a groove early. Our pitching is really dependent on the way our offense is producing. If we're hittin, then our guys seem to be extremely loose, but if not, you'll see a bunch of dingers from LSU.

State is a quality opponent with a want for victory. Les said about that, the better.

Yeah, when I said "no pitching" I was referring to depth. I thought that was clear in context, sorry if I wasn't.

I wonder if they'll walk Deichmann 700 times again.

Unlikely with Watson protecting him.

Hope you're right and that Watson stays hot. If nothing else, putting Watson behind Deichmann should reduce the double play threat.

And I hope they walk him every time.

I would take Diechman being on first base every time. Otherwise, his average says that almost 70% of the time he would get out.

Getting on base 90 out of 300 times is wonderful, but 300 out of 300 would be even better.

Agree and just as important that the guys in front of him get on. AC isn't going to push guys into scoring position just to avoid Deichmann's bat. I can't recal him every doing that the first time around. Against State in the reg season, LSU had Coomes and Jordan following Deichmann. Coomes had some ridiculous RBI potential number that weekend. I think it was close to 20.

On the flip side of that though, is that we have that same advantage they have.

This seems to be a lost concept on so many people.

It's simply a numbers game. It's hard to go 5-1 against another team. Not impossible.

It hasn't been too hard going 16-1 against them in football this century.

In 96 we were swept by Florida then beat them twice in Omaha, so your thinking is wrong. It IS difficult.
Oh and the 3-1 victory in game one back inStarkville could hardly be called a beat down.

Miss St lost at homme in the Supers last year to the runner up. I think they have just as much experience as LSU

What experience?

Returning pitching and position players?
LSU 2017 preview
"The return of junior Alex Lange assured the Tigers of an ace pitcher, but the decision by four players selected in the MLB draft last June to stay in school gave LSU a major boost.
Most surprising among those four was left-handed starting pitcher Jared Poche, a 14th-round selected player whose return came after negotiations stalled with the San Diego Padres.
Other drafted players back and at the top of the lineup are senior middle infielders Kramer Robertson and Cole Freeman and left-handed power-hitting junior Greg Deichmann.
Sophomore centerfielder Antoine Duplantis moves from right, junior Beau Jordan will stay in left and catcher Michael Papierski figures to be the No. 1 catcher.
That's a lot of talent back from a team that fell two wins shy of Omaha last season."
MSU 2017 Preview
"The Bulldogs lost two of their vaunted weekend starting pitchers and 6 of the regular members of their starting lineup."

Maybe you were speaking of Coaching experience?
