They did not win a championship, sorry and please don't give me the story of how they were penalized for not beat IU by a wide margin because it is bogus.

2010 AU would absolutely wreck 03 LSU
They couldn't even "wreck" the 2010 LSU team.

Should be higher. They won the SEC when the 5th best SEC West team (Mississippi State) went 9-4 and destroyed Michigan in their bowl game. Alabama, Arkansas, and LSU were also top 10 teams for the most part, and that's just the SEC West.
probably the pinnacle of SEC power, i remember Kirk Cousins saying something like "how did you guys lose three games?" after Bama destroyed MSU in their bowl game and i think Bama finished fourth in the west that year, just a great collection of teams in the west filled future NFL difference maker type players, Cam, Julio, Hightower, peterson, Fairley, Mathieu..

Exactly. Overall, the list in the OP is terrible.

If Colt wasn't injured in that Nebraska game that hit by Darius would not have knocked him out and it would have been 14-0 Longhorns early
If Sam Bradford wasn't injured very early in the Oklahoma-Texas game than Texas might've not even been playing in the NCG.
And are you also forgetting Greg McElroy was hurt and thus only threw for 57 yards? So basically all Bama did was run the ball the whole game yet Texas still has a hard time stopping Ingram and TR. McElroy was no McCoy but he did play really well versus Florida, and getting 2 of your 4 biggest player makers (Julio and Maze) involved in the offense would've surely made some postive difference for Bama.

Go look back at the rest of their season.
Just one example, they needed a 4th and 10 bomb by Krenzel to survive Purdue.
Pretty sure that bomb was on 4th and 3. It was a gutsy call. Krenzel to Michael Jenkins...Holy Buckeye.

ETA: While it was insane, the 2011 defense played some really one dimensional offenses. 2016 defense was better. Much better if you ask me.
What?
They gave up 30 plus points three times. Georgia Southern was the only team to break 20 on the 2011 team, and that was just a few big plays and a kick return for a touchdown.

Texas had beaten Oklahoma and Bradford the year before why wouldn't they be able to beat them again
Ingram didn't start running until the 2nd quarter
Bama couldn't move the ball early and didn't move the ball until their defense took over

You're right, it was 3rd and 10 and Krenzel checked down to the tight end along the sideline for about 8 yards.

Because that was the year before and had nothing to do with the 2009 game. The fact is Texas only beat Oklahoma by 3 points despite Sam Bradford barely playing. I think having the reigning Heisman winner and future no.1 pick could've made at least a 3+ point difference. Almost the same logic you're using.

Maybe in part because McElroy was hurt enough where he couldn't throw the ball more than a few times? Having somewhat of a passing game (even 100 yards more) could've helped Bama. Julio Jones and Marquis Maze (2 of the biggest play makers on the team) would've been actually involved in the offense then.
Point is playing this whole "if" game is stupid because no one knows for sure what might happen.

The 2010 SEC W was arguably the best college division ever, but Auburn was not an all time great team. They did have a transcendent player that should rank higher on all time player list, but the team overall was not great. They were 8-5 in both 2009 and 2011, that speaks to the overall talent level. They also were not at all dominant, pulling out close wins over Miss St, Clemson and Kentucky. They spotted Bama 24 and were frankly lackluster in the title game. Their only dominant game was the SECCG over an 8-4 USCe. Flags fly forever and there is a champ every year, not all are all time teams.

I am going by what I witnessed in the game itself
Bama was overmatched early.
McCoy was moving the ball all over the field in his few early plays and Bama went 3 and out moving backwards then turned the ball over
It would have been then 14-0 Texas. That would have taken the running game out of the game even more. Bama could not throw because Texas had Earl Thomas out there. The same player that turned Seattle's D so dominating.

It's fascinating how the 2001 Miami team keeps getting more and more praise, in retrospect, due to the NFL careers of its players.
At the time, I remember lots of people griping about their extremely weak Big East schedule. They were also very fortunate to escape Blacksburg with a win at the end of the season.
To be sure, they were a fantastic team. I just find the historical trajectory interesting.

That Nebraska team they played wasn't that good
I truthfully think the 5 best college football teams since 1990 are
95 Nebraska
05 Texas
05 USC
04 USC
10 Auburn
The 04 USC team came back in 05 to lose to Texas
Only players to leave were Cody, Patterson and a LB
That 05 USC team was better than the team in 2004

And that was early in the game. More often than not, what happens early in the game does not equal what will happen throughout a game.
quote:

He had 9 total yards so I'm not sure how that equates moving the ball all over the field.
quote:

How? Bama didn't want the throw the ball because McElroy was hurt and it still was early in the game so why not run? The fact remains Ingram and Richardson still ran for 100+ yards and a pair of TDs each. It doesn't matter that Texas defense stopped it early because it still ended up happening.
quote:I'm not saying McElroy would've thrown for as many yards as he did versus Florida but even just 50 additional yards could've extended a drive or led to a TD.
Bama could not throw because Texas had Earl Thomas out there.
And once again you're complaining about McCoy getting hurt when Texas may have not even been there if Bradford hadn't got hurt.
