I am not a weather pro in the least bit, but I did see this on the weather channel app today. The last thing we need in these parts is more flooding.

This storm doesn't have to be that strong to cause major damage.. the forward speed of this system is the key.... we could still get a lot of rain with this but we want it to haul arse through here... looks like there might be a front coming across the country that will pick this thing up and get it heading east......

GFS doesn't really do anything with the system beyond what I posted earlier, it sort of dies out over time. This isn't going to be some catastrophic flood creator like the system that caused the flooding in LA last year.

GFS Ensembles 12z indicates 1004 -1006 mb weak low psble in south central gulf by 120 hours (Monday 7 a.m. CDT ).
Upper level winds at 500 millibars ahead of approaching trough over central Texas will likely push any low and moisture axis toward big bend Florida panhandle in advance of cold front late Tuesday.
Also, current wind shear profiles are not conducive for development as moisture and heat will not be able to consolidate under a central mass.
