Main reason I'm asking is that I'm trying to figure out my son. He's 4 and a half. 5 in November. He's writing his name left handed, yet, throwing things in his right. Anyone ever heard of this or seent it?

It's confusing, to say the least.

I'm a lefty, but truth be told everyone tries to make lefties be righties growong up that I can do pretty much everything right handed.

Its not as natural, but I don't look like an idiot trying to throw a football right handed.

Doesn't help, but it never hurts to be amidexturous

My brother is. I think sometimes he doesn't even notice if he picks up a football naturally and throws it with either hand.

My son.

We just let him figure it out himself.

Somethings he still does left-handed while mainly he is right handed.

I do everything right handed. I swing a club or a bat left handed.

He's a little different. Writes left. Throws right. Bats left.

My grandpa. Although not naturally he thinks. He thinks he's left handed naturally, but was forced to do everything in school and such right handed to where now he can do most things with either.

I write ,bowl, and when fishing I cast left handed. I think that's all I do left handed. Everything else I do right handed.

Anything that involves swinging, like baseball, softball, and golf, I do left handed. Everything else I do right handed. I'd say just let it develop naturally and don't try to force things.

When I was a teen to late 20s I switched over to the left hand for one or two things.

That's not ambidexterity. If he can throw or write with both of his hands, then he's ambidextrous. People often confuse doing certain things with a certain hand with ambidexterity. Most people don't do everything with one hand.

ETA:

This is ambidexterity:
