I don't even have words to describe how happy this makes me... cutting aid to Mexico by 47%
100% would be better, but this is a refreshing thing to see!

Trump proposes deep U.S. spending cuts in Mexico, Central America
quote:
MEXICO CITY (Reuters) – President Donald Trump on Tuesday proposed drastically slashing U.S. foreign aid spending in Mexico and Central America, which are struggling with drug violence, graft and poverty that prompts many from the troubled region to migrate north.
Trump’s austere 2018 budget proposal, which seeks to trim $3.6 trillion from government spending over the next decade and is unlikely to get legislative approval in its current form, envisages steep cuts in most federal departments, but particularly the State Department.
Ever since launching his presidential campaign in 2015, Trump has attacked Mexico, threatening to rip up the North American Free Trade Agreement, build a Mexico-funded southern border wall and ramp up deportations of those living without documents in the United States.
Tuesday’s proposal foresees 2018 Mexican aid of $87.66 million, down more than 45 percent from the 2016 outlay.

I can't wait to see the "Mexican Squealers" melt to this news

I'd rather see them cut the entire budget for foreign aid by 100% since its not authorized for taxpayer funds in that pesky constitution thing liberals hate.

Israel is the largest cumulative recipient of U.S. foreign assistance since World War II. To date, the United States has provided Israel $127.4 billion (current, or non-inflation-adjusted, dollars) in bilateral assistance. Almost all U.S. bilateral aid to Israel is in the form of military assistance, although in the past Israel also received significant economic assistance.

Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) on military aid covering FY2019 to FY2028. Under the terms of the MOU, the United States pledges to provide $38 billion in military aid ($33 billion in FMF grants plus $5 billion in missile defense appropriations) to Israel
Until the wars in Iraq and Afghanistan, They made up half the foreign aid. They receive like $370 a citizen, but as soon as your bring up that fact to board goes ape shite.
The weird part is they don't need our money.

Absolutely this. It boggles my mind that anyone is ok with us shipping money across our border to any other country. Of course we all know that none of our illustrious members of Congress have any special interests in other countries...

I have a feeling that this is part of a larger deal including the wall

just the very words "spending cuts in Mexico." why are we spending/giving away money in Mexico anyway?
and they give us grief because we want our borders protected
no more Mr. Nice Guy

It's ridiculous. They could end that today and Israel's Christian evangelist network would pick up the slack in an instant.
Wait till people see how much aid we've given Iraq and Afghanistan after 16 and 14 years

This certainly will drive Latinos to the polls, straight to the Democratic Party.

It's almost like an actual President doing actual things that a President used to do. You know. Actual constructive things for this country. I'm no Trump syncophant but at least it appears he is putting some actual effort into concrete things.

Actually most of this board supports Israel yet has a lusty and intelligent dislike for how they tend to influence us unduly.

Goldennugget had this broken down in a beautiful pie chart a few weeks ago.
