No looking to spend $2k... under 1k if possible. My main concern is keeping them away from my little one.

Buy a large jobsite toolbox. Install gun racks. Secure to wall and floor. They offer models with recessed locks for better security

Yeah, if you're not worried about a serious burglary or fire protection, you kind find some good deals on Cannons from tractor supply.

This is a good idea. Can you link a box and gun racks that would work together for guns? Thank you.

Depends on the make & model. You need to research fire protection rating, how many locking bolts, the body and door plate steel gauge, internal power supply with USB ports which can be hooked up to an alarm system, and theft protection warranty. I would get a combination lock over an electronic keypad.

Also, it's been my experience if a safe claims to be "60 guns", it will only hold 30 scoped rifles. Go bigger than you anticipate otherwise you'll be buying another safe down to road

I got a 42 gun Cannon safe from Academy about 2 years ago for around $500-$600. They put them on sale regularly

If you can afford it, save a few dollars and buy the wide Body 64 gun safe . It's marked down to $899 several times per year, normally $999.

The safe in your link (Cannon TS5934) is a decent safe if you own 12-15 long guns. Chances are you will outgrow it once you start buying rifles and shotguns for your wife and children.

IMO, it's much cheaper and convenient to buy 1 large safe once, then to buy 2 medium size safes over time

Dont forget the used market gun safes are good to buy second hand Try the usual yard sale estate sale flea market pawn ebay craigs list etc etc. Things like safes are not gonna wear out and often out live their owners

If all you are concerned about is keeping little hands off the guns then one of those sub $200 tinfoil Stack-On"gun cabinets" would be more than sufficient. Just don't expect them to keep a burglar with a screwdriver or hammer out of them.

Dont get mad remember I am an ole country boy.

Ya dont buy a gun safe to keep ya kids out thas easy to do. Ya buy a gun safe if ya worried bout "Opportunist" breaking in and taking them. A gun safe cant stop every one but now a days its a lower class of thug that can be defeated by a good safe as a rule they aint looking for what they cant carry and are in a hurry anyways.

Right. Your typical democratic isn't cracking a safe He'll take my 65" off the wall, grab a few bottles of my bourbon, and roll.

They're obviously not the top of the line but their customer service is too notch. I called me a couple weeks after the flood and not only did they send me a new one free of charge the safe I had that flooded was no longer produced so they upgraded me to a much nice safe at no extra cost.

I think costco has a cannon they carry that is usually a good price

Any of the Cannons will stop 99.9% of your typical southern criminals, no safe will stop the other .1%.

There is no such thing as a burgler proof safe, they are only designed to slow down a pro or discourage an amateur and most really cant do that very well if a knowledgeable determined person wants what is inside.

Fortunately there are not that many fitting that description breaking and entering.
