I read that too and almost liked the post but I've been in enough brain cell killing conversations with them lately. I need a couple days off.

Because you are advocating for more prisons which most on here understand we don't need, we need real justice reform. We lock up way too many people and give them a free BA in crime then dump them out on the street and say "now behave yourself". This kids death is tragic but the knee jerk reaction to funnel more money to police and the prison system isn't right either.
You stated the problem in your post, it is that we "dump them out on the street and say "now behave yourself"". The ONLY thing that will ever help that community is taking all of the shitheads off of the street and keeping them off of the streets. If they don't ever get to see any thugs around them, and know that the first time they act a thug they will be locked away for good, the kids there will actually have a chance.

Then let's say frick it and and do full genocide since they suck and will never learn.
If not, even more policing isn't the solution.

Sounds like a good kid with a bright future cut short

Gets shot twice in 6 months, he's not an "innocent bystander".

Is there anything else reported with this story?

We NEED more prisons and we NEED to keep violent offenders locked up until they rot. I would bet big money the fricking pieces of shite who did this have lengthy records and have been convicted of violent crimes in the past.
What we need is a change in the juridical system. Why build more jails when you have judges like Judy White who will let them out? The tax payers will be paying for these jails and to keep more people locked up so that isn't the answer.

Link? It's a damn fact that most of these thugs with records a mile long (ie. the Alton Sterlings) would not be engaged in more crimes if they were locked up period. I guess you're like their mama's...they good baws and just needs one mo chance!!!!

I'm all for paying more taxes if it will go to keeping people locked up.

That's a damn shame.
Should rally around him instead of Alton Sterling
There is no agenda to be served by rallying around this kid. No one is going to pay big money to bus people in or make it a nationwide news story because their is nothing to gain. This is a sad situation.

I'm only getting third hand information from former students who are getting it from snap chat and instagram. It is conflicting.
I know some people read that this kid got shot twice in six moths and have a hard time believing he was a good kid. They read about his coach and his family calling him a great kid and want to derisively call him a dindu. But teaching this kid for two years, I have a hard time believing he was up to no good. And even if he was involved in some minor drug deals, he didn't deserve to be shot in the head. He was still a kid with 3.5 GPA who attending college and majoring in engineering. And it isn't his fault he was born in North Baton Rouge and not Ascension or Livingston or any other place worth that may be worth a damn, a place where he could be surrounded by better people. And it isn't as if kids at Parkview and Catholic aren't doing bars and smoking pot, they just have better connections and don't typically get shot when buying.

I met him a couple of times, and spoke with him for a few minutes - he was a good kid no doubt - I would be stunned if he were up to no good.

You're such a little bitch. He didn't say give more money to the police, he didn't say lock up non violent criminals.
What he said was spot on, except for more jails. What we need is to let people out who are in on the bullshite drug charges (simple possession, various weed charges, etc) and lock up all these sorry arse violent criminals.
For most of the one's committing the violent crimes, it's not their first violent crime to commit. Many of them are repeat offenders. I agree with his point, except we don't need more jails, unless they're full with violent criminals. We need to free the one's locked up on bullshite, and put habitual offenders or violent criminals in their places.

is a sad situation and a terrible tragedy. My heart goes out to his parents since a parent should never have to bury a child.
But, you don't get shot TWICE in 6 months because you are in the right places hanging out with the right people doing good things
How do you know? Dont blame the victim here.
