Thanks dirtman. I mean I get it too, toughen up don't be a puss etc but I am looking forward to graduating our of baby phase.
Any kid that wants to go to boot camp should start by handling a young infant 24/7 for a month. When the cries pour on and you've had 2 hours of sleep in 3 days they'll be reconsidering a drill sargeant being up their arse

Babies are easy, wait until your baby matures a little and learns how to push your buttons.

It will get better. But you'll never sleep the same again. Mine are both grown, and I still lose sleep over them.

"It's the reason we're here"
If that's why you chose to have kids then you're already doing it wrong champ.
But yes, I do believe kids age you.
I just turned 50 and no one believes my age. Most people guess my age to be mid to late 30's.
I've got good genetics going for me in that both my parents are really young looking and active for their age.
I don't smoke and I eat right and exercise and that helps as well.
But I think my main thing is that my wife and I don't have kids. Worry and stress are silent killers man.

I get it, it's the reason we're here, but I'm only about 6 months in and have no idea how ppl have multiple kids. Maybe it's just the baby phase idk and maybe it's bc my kid is impossible, never ever sleeps. Don't you just love the parents that brag "we just have the easiest and best baby ever"? Yeah screw yall. Rant over. I feel .00001% better.
i would put tubes in for sure, made my life wayyyyyyyyyyyyyyy easier. I have two boys and i mean no1 says it's easy but it's definitely worth it. Once you get to the 6 month mark, it's easier and easier by the day. First kid is obviously the hardest because you're LEARNING EVERY THING. My second kid sleeps much less than the first but easier because he's #2

Some babies sleep, some babies dont. My favoirte is when people tell you what will work 100% for your baby because it works for theirs.....
But, your non-sleeper may turn into the good smart kid in kindergarten, while the good-sleeping baby is doing meth in kindergarten
I currently have a 1 year old who doesnt sleep for shite. But, on the flip side, he has been an absolute saint in social settings since birth. We can take him anywhere and he wont act up.

Thanks for the encouragement. Did it feel good to "teach" me that wise piece of valuable unknown information. And yea that's why I'm only having one
Parenting is what you make it. If you want it to be difficult and shitty, it will be difficult and shitty. If you take the time to enjoy the small things about having kids, then you'll love being a parent.
FWIW, we didn't have trouble with our first one sleeping. Yeah, in the beginning, they are up every couple hours to feed, but it's not bad, especially if you and your wife alternate feeding times. Right now, our son is almost 3 and we have another on the way, and possibly will try for a 3rd.
I love being a dad. The stuff my son says right now is so off the wall and hilarious. I also take pride in teaching him things and giving him new experiences.

Some of you are just plain rational and thank goodness for you.

So you are at the easy stage . The " entitlement stage" is when the real joy begins. Not to mention the "your room smells like a butt festival" stage or the " where the frick are my tools" stage.

Yep. I'm on the way to 50 and not gray and tired faced like my friends with kids are. They are much younger and are starting to look beat. It's a big responsibility.

My mom says that now she can sleep at night sometimes without worrying about me. I'm 40 and she is 68.

We have all been there thoug man. Those times when you think why the hell did I ever have a kid. That doesnt make you a bad dad. People will say they never had that thought, but they are liars.
What makes one a good dad is coming back for more when you feel like that. Loving them and taking care of them when you are at your wits end. It is the same thing with courage. It doesnt take courage to do something you have no fear off. It takes courage to be scared as shite and do it anyway.

I'm not even 30 yet and we're trying for our third. Quit being a pussy. Kids are the fricking best.

If people survived POW camps and German concentration camps to their 80s, you can survive raising kid. Stop being a little bitch.

Actually, the longest living humans usually have a majority plant based diet, and a purpose like taking care of kids, parents, etc. Parenting is a stress your body is well adapted to handle.
