Seriously... The transition of the team during the off season is incredible:
Reddick > Gomez
Aoki > Rasmus
McCann > Castro
Bregman > Valbuena
TY Gattis > LY Gattis
So much more patience at the plate and much different team personality.

General question for the DATers. Do y'all watch every game? If not, what percentage do y'all watch? I've been trying to follow the Rockies this season and it's almost a chore to keep up.
To the best of my recollection, I've watched every game this year that wasn't a late, west coast start. I think that I've caught at least the first three innings of all of those.

If I have nothing else going on, the game is on. I catch parts of most of them, but rarely watch the whole game (I have two kids in baseball/softball). Now, I have made a conscious effort to watch most of the games against South Euless.

I missed the first ten games of the season when I was in the Middle East.
Have not missed a game since.

Wanted to ask a question about the ending of last night's game. After Gomez strikes out the ball scoots away from Gattis in front of the plate. He picks it up and steps back towards the plate just in time to tag the runner running home from third while Gomez stands in the right hander's batter's box. The official scoring was 2 unassisted to end the game. If that runner touches home before Gattis tags him, tags Gomez, or throws the ball to first, does the run count? And if that was the case, that runner did a terrible job of avoiding the tag. He just kinda slowed up and let Gattis tag him.

After 20+ years of marriage and two kids out of high school, it really isn't that hard.

No. It would not have counted.

I probably watch at least parts of 80% of the games. I'll miss the beginning or end of weeknight games for various reasons, and I pretty much don't get to watch a single week day game because work. I also don't have a family and kids.
On the weekends I watch on TV less because I'm out doing shite more, but if I go to a game it's typically on the weekend. I'll follow on my phone though if I'm not at home

I'm pretty sure after the Gomez K, it was a dead ball and he was automatically out. Would not have mattered what the runner did. Game over.

I watch most every weekday game. Not as much on the weekend since I'm out and about.

Here's a bit of "what-if" scenario...
I was talking with one of my vendors, from Las Vegas. Seems there is a growing push to bring in a MLB team.
So... If it happens to be a team like Miami or Tampa, or SD... Would you want the Astros to go back to the NL?
I was extremely negative about the move. Honestly, I whined about it frequently to anyone that would listen. I simply believe 'true' baseball requires each player hits.
That said, I would not want to move. I enjoy the offense. I now cringe when the Astros play in NL parks. I'm ready for both leagues to be DH leagues.
ETA: shoutout to Lester Earl... He told me that I would grow to prefer the AL and that I should stop being whiner... He was half right, I guess.

I don't want to move back again. I could see Oakland moving to LV and just staying in the West. If Tampa moved to LV I don't know what they would do. They would probably go in our division and MLB would just go back to unbalanced divisions again.
Don't see SD moving (if they did to Vegas you just keep them in the NL West) and definitely don't see Miami moving

Well, it all depends who who moves where and what league they are already in.
If Tampa moved way west like Vegas or Portland (hypothetically, mind you), I could see them switching the Astros with the Marlins (especially if Jeter's group ends up owning Miami). We'd be replaced by the Rays in the AL West, the Marlins would replace the Rays in the AL East and Houston would be back home in the NL Central.

Again -- all of those are hypothetical moves. What I'm asking though... would you WANT the Astros back in the NL?

I love the Astros being in the AL. I wouldn't want them to go back to the NL.
I like the teams better, I like the DH, and I like the Rangers being in the same division.

Wasn't a dead ball but it was a force out.

No way they move again. Would be terrible to switch leagues twice in 6 or 7 years. We are an AL team now.
