Gem from the Tesla conference call:
quote:
"I think people are paying too much attention to S and X. I mean, the main reason...haha...I shouldn't say the main reason...hehehe...is so we can spell the word SEXY. ...They're great products, but from a volume perspective, they're not that important."

A Tesla fan boy from the OT. He has a long running argument with wutangfinancial about the viability of Tesla.

What does this have to do with me?

Tesla Model 3 is ‘outselling all of its gas-powered equivalents combined’
It shows the Mod 3 has approx. 30% of market share sales.
That means all of the other models in its category make up approx. 70% of market share combined.
The quote is untrue.
The Mod 3 has the highest market share % but not higher than all the other models COMBINED.

Speaking of that thread, Ford just flexed all over Elon with their new electric F150 prototype
1mm lbs to 300,000 and unlike Tesla, they actually have something built.

I saw that. Elon is a mess.

I am very interested in the Tesla truck (once it's officially announced). I didn't know Ford was coming out with one so I'll definitely be following it. One of the big questions I have is will it be able to use the Supercharging station network already in place or will Ford have to create it's own?
If Ford is first to the market or within 6 months of Tesla, I'll compare but just reading real quick it looks like it might be 2023 before it or eletric GMs hits the streets.

and it’ll be 2023 at this pace before Tesla has a truck on the street, if they ever do.

I don’t want to sell it at 25%. I think it will get to at least $275 (37.5%) before the year ends

You are right. I didn't think it would get back to $250 that quickly.

Short Term ie 18 months I'll say $500-700
Not bad

Let's say they miss and end up at 300k cars bc of production issues, thats still $18B in revenue, lets slap a lower multiple of 5x sales on it, thats still $90B or $550+ per share
Welp. He nailed the 300K car delivery and the share price. I heard he got perma banned for something in this thread

We all know Ford's first gen EVs are going to have a ton of issues
Teslas for example come with an adapter kit where you can charge just about anywhere. Since there's only one supercharger type charger, not sure if you can make an adapter for that/how you would pay if you're a Ford owner. Tesla just charges us via the Tesla account linked to our car
Also I doubt Tesla will want other EVs using it's infrastructure. There's already too much of a demand for supercharging in high population cities
