No because an undocumented immigrant hasn't necessarily harmed anyone
It's already extended to other criminals....are we to believe that drug dealers aren't given free passes, and often times even paid, for giving info on murders, rapes, etc.
We don't have sanctuary cities for drug dealers....yet we do for illegals who could go through this same system that is already in place in law enforcement agencies across the country.

If the MF don't like the law , change it if you have the votes

So you'd support extending that sanctuary to other criminals as well? If so, where is your line for what is not acceptable?
No because an undocumented immigrant hasn't necessarily harmed anyone

It's odd to me that most of you don't understand how things you where he said he's got started. It was always an attempt to suss out crime and to grant individuals, who are immigrants, protection if they came forward to help the law. Basically, people were acraid of coming forward to help the police and fbi for fear of being deported.
Dont know how you people get that so wrong

This may have been the original intent, but the current situation does not necessarily reflect the origin.

There argument is that illegal aliens that are witnesses to crimes won't come forward because they fear being deported.
Stupid fricking argument.
Yeah, facts are stupid.

Immigrants shouldn't have to fear being deported while cooperating with law enforcement for other issues.
Immigrants or illegal immigrants?

Right we all know that's the reason and why they won't admit to it.

So, in the name of encouraging people to feel safe and secure about reporting crime, we totally give up our right to enforce our laws against ILLEGAL immigration?
You're kidding, right?

Nah, but sometimes the way they're used is.

Oh yeah? Explain. Trump and co made it sound like the cities themselves are trying to be an overall safe haven for illegals. This idea has been perpetuated by your leaders as a means to get you guys up in arms. Classic move. If you read books like 1984, you will see that same move.

It's not just reporting a crime, but it's also cooperating with law enforcement officials. So being a witness, or calling 911 or a variety of other things.
This is the argument. I honestly DGAF. I think its probably smart to not have the local police acting as immigration enforcement personnel but I really don't think it matters that much.

So the law is having a hard time finding witnesses to organized crime or murder and makes it safe for illegals to come forward. How is that a misuse of anything? I dont understand. Feel like you guys have been taken for a ride so far that you dont even know what youre arguing anymore

Do you have any statistics to back your claims, or is this just a feelings moment?
I ask because it feels like any other emotional argument.

Im just telling you why. I dont care about the associated opinions. Just stating the facts.
But for the sake of argument, which is worse to you: gang violence, murder, drug trafficking...or being in the country illegally? Sometimes you have to pick your poison

I'll answer.
They're all illegal and should be addressed accordingly. You don't prevent criminal activity by allowing more criminal activity.

Isn't it ironic the argument liberals use is so we can get tough on crime in the same vein wanting to protect criminals.

that is a very simplistic viewpoint. It's called harm reduction. Calculating tradeoffs of various actions, and focusing on things that actually impact people's lives (i.e. murder).
