I'm not sure how drawing fouls is lame? Pretty good strategy that most stars try to take advantage of as much as possible.

if it wasnt for drawing fouls he would avg less than 20ppg. I have said it before, and will again. Harden would rather go out of his way to try and draw a foul than take an easy layup

It's a legit question. The Rocketards call you rustled yet they are the ones pitching a fit that it might be true. Other star players watch Harden draw fouls and emulate him. His ability to create unnecessary contract all but eliminates being able to go over the top of screen. He's got plenty of skills, but the answer may very well be yes to your question.

In the 2016 Finals, LeBron James shot 43 free throws in SEVEN GAMES, the most of any player from either team; the next highest was 10 fewer.*

LeBron also had 166 field goal attempts in 292 minutes. 131 (79%) of those attempts were 2 pointers while 35 (21%) were 3 pointers.

In 3 games, Harden has 49 free throw attempts--already exceeding LeBron's 7 game total. He's played in 109 minutes, with 72 field goal attempts including 42 (58%) 2 pointers and 30 (42%) 3 pointers.

Harden shoots a free throw every 2.2 minutes and for every 1.5 field goal attempts. While LeBron shot a free throw every 6.6 minutes and for every 3.8 field goal attempts.

So despite being a more perimeter oriented player, Harden shoots 2.7 times as many free throws in an equal amount of playing time and 3 times as many free throws on the same amount of field goal attempts.

*Edit: Forgot to add fewer after 10.

How stupid was it to take a contested 3down 2 in a playoff game? It's just sad that guys like Lebron, Harden and Westbrook are the stars the NBA has to choose from now.

Yes. I find him incredibly boring.

Excellent passer, but I fricking hate his scoring game. It's such bush league calls. I get that it's smart, but I want to punch him in the face

Tied for first with such nba champs as adrian dantley burly 6 4 detroit who lived on the line, taking it strong to hole, moses malone and mj. Moses malone led the association in ft attempts many many years in row.
Its an honored tradition. Just blow on mj on the way in and they called a foul.

James Harden is the basketball equivalent of the big burly slugger who has a mediocre batting average but walks a lot and hits a ton of homeruns. So he's basically the Mark McGwire of the NBA. Going to the free throw line a lot takes immense ability similar to a hitter drawing a ton of walks in baseball. It's not very entertaining but it's an extremely valuable skill.
