So which generation gets the blame for the $20 Trillion that we millennials and Gen Z will have to pay for? Generational theft is conveniently ignored when this subject comes up.

I'd say the Bernie Sanders/Nancy Pelosi generation takes the cake for stupidity.
They took everything that their parents (WWII veterans) gave them and shite all over it.

Anyone who supports Maxine Waters is a dullard.
I doubt millennial were the ones who put her in power.
How do these people get elected? There should be a basic IQ test every year.
She has been zapped too many times with Poli gun.
Or do the Dems trot her out there to say stupid stuff, knowing she is a tard, as cannon fodder?

there any data to back this up, especially compared to previous generations at similar age points?
No. When they approach middle age they'll be like any other generation

So you start by saying that my generation is being blindly led or pushed to believe things in school, I tell you I have had no such experience, and some how me NOT being blindly led to believe things like you claim my generation is...makes me naive.
This is why broad generalizations of an entire generation are just silly to me. You know nothing about me just like I know nothing about you. I do know that I would never claim to know something about you based on what year you were born.

If you use their logic I guess it makes sense that they would judge someone based on their generation since they are the generation of bigotry.

Selfish....hell no
Edit: millenials are screwed in the future thanks to their parents and grandparents being selfish.

quote:No, but this is not something new, plus it's a good money making scheme irrespective of political ideology.
So you would contend your history books, content, emphasis and themes are unchanged vs "those years older"?
quote:No, but global warming is a relatively new theory, so politics or not, this was going to occur anyways.
You would contend books highlighting politically influenced science such as anthropogenic global warming are unchanged vs "those years older"?
quote:No, but as a person who had to study learning theories for graduate school, like any other field that has an empirical basis, a lot of change is a result of that. But much of the basic principles from the mid-20th century are still in place (Behavioral theory, Cognitive theory).
You would contend that learning/teaching methods are unchanged vs "those years older"?
quote:Well I wasn't referring to those obvious contentions, nor was I implying nothing has changed.
If those are your contentions, I can tell you point blank you are wrong.
You made specific statements about very extreme and troubling changes from objectivity to subjective indoctrination. I was saying that this was not something that I personally experienced. So I was questioning how pervasive those changes were, especially since they are newsworthy--and newsworthy stories are often atypical, extreme, negative, and/or emotionally-laden.

The very few competent of us will rise to solve the crises created by your generation.

quote:Well this makes two of us, and my entire educational--K-12, undergraduate, and graduate (2 graduate universities)--occured in public schools.
You're either extraordinarily naive, or very fortunate.
So maybe I'm naive or just plain ignorant, and/or maybe my experiences were atypical.
Then again, maybe not. Maybe you're overratting the phenomenon. Afterall, what I'd your basis? Personal experiences, empirical data? Because if it's from things like media, then we know that it can skew our views of phenomenon because we are prone to the representative heuristic.

They are highly educated but can't open a can without watching a You Tube video to learn how.
It's hard to tell if they are the world's dumbest geniuses or the world's smartest idiots. I mean, Bernie? Come on now....

You know nothing about me
Based on the former and taking you at your word, I can tell you again, you are either fortunate or naive. Those two possibilities are spectral opposites, enabling a statement without need of knowing anything of you personally or as a person.

Every gerenartion has a percentage of idiots, if you flip the research I bet you find a bunch of kids who are doing really well right now.

No, social media may give the idots of our generation a platform, but they're a minority compared to the rest of us.

I'll admit I misunderstood what you meant by fortunate. In that regard I have been very fortunate. Fortunate that when I got to college and my professors did in fact spout their beliefs as facts, my parents had raised me well enough to research and decide for myself what view points I would take.
That is my problem with this apparent belief that millennials as a whole are mindless SJWs. The majority of people my age that I associate with are in no way what many on this board perceive millennials to be. Yeah we're young and stupid and have a lot left to learn about life but we know that and don't post our beliefs as facts on Facebook or get offended by every other article. My point is that it is impossible to group all millennials together when in my case, I am who I am due to how I was raised, not because of when I was born. The articles posted on this site of millennials being offended by every other article don't take into account the millennials that just don't give a shite.
