Question about debit card fraud

So i know the sweet lady who used my debit card without my premssion to the tune of over 900 dollars. Filed fraud charges with the bank and it has almost been two months and everything is still being reviewed by the bank. I also filed a police report filled with text messages of sweet lady admitting her guilt, and submitted that to the bank. Crickets on the entire issue since the beginning of february. Now, said sweet lady is on probation for theft, and I know her probation officer. Should I speed up this process by just turning the police report over to the probation officer? Or continue to wait and let the bank/police handle it on their own?

continue to wait
frick that.
Nothing pisses me off more than when places drag arse about returning my money.
But you can bet your sweet arse if you're that late getting them their money they will not be as patient.
I hate banks. And thieves.

You filed fraud charges and they haven't refunded you your money?
Or do you want to see justice?
Because circumventing the law and giving it to her probation officer is a bullshite move. Innocent until proven guilty.
If you bank hasn't returned your money then it is on them. I'd be talking to them and pulling the rest of my business.

Did they return your money? If so, let them do it their way.

Never use a debit card for purchases.
Right about now wouldn't it be nice to have the credit card company missing money instead of your bank account?

Did you knowingly tell her your pin number or give her your card?

I went through a similar wait about 3 years ago. As soon as I got my money back, I changed banks.

Sounds like this was your girlfriend and you have let her use the card before and now she used it on something you didn't approve of.
Also a police report on something like this doesn't really mean too much.

You having text messages and calling her a sweet lady kind of gives an appearance that it could be an inside job with you and the sweet lady running a ruse on the bank

I don't know why people carry a debit card. Just use a credit card and you would never have that problem

Exactly how in the frick you know this person?
Typically CC/DC Theft is done in full anon. You can maybe track down the person, but how in the frick do you have their number?
This sounds fishy as frick.

Two months sounds about right, I only got my money back when I threatened to move all my accounts. Similar happened to me, they purchased things online. Only thing I use my debt card for is to get cash occasionally from the ATM. Take action or they will drag their feet.

When I had someone get about 300 off my debit card a few years ago I went through Visa and they had my money back within a couple weeks. i never bothered the bank.

I knew a girl who had this done to her by a boyfriend. He racked up over $20,000.00 worth of charges using her credit card and debit card. He was caught on video and admitted to it afterwards. His name was given to the cops and the financial institutions and nothing happened to the pos. They(cops and banks) didn't press charges. Nothing happened to him. She got her money back and he got $20,000.00 worth of shite with no repurcussions. Don't be surprised if nothing happens. I'd say if you want her in trouble , you're only option is reporting it to her probation officer and I'm not sure that will work if she isn't charged with a crime

As soon as it gets resolved, jettison the bank down the road. I have a debit card with Fidelity and had a similar situation and it was resolved in 2 weeks. Also the debit pays all charges for all machines with reimbursement to account. Only this they don't do that a bank does is accept of deliver cash across counter.

Should bank with Capital One. I've had several fraudulent chargers over the last 10 years, up to $2K, and it's never taken them more than a 10 days to refund me.
They also reimburse all ATM fees.

If she was not criminally charged yet with your theft, then the probation officer can't do anything about it. Until she is criminally charged its a civil issue. Once she is charged and then arrested, she her probation may be revoked since it will be a new felony.
