Would be interesting if someone made a "superhero" movie but never showed the superhero parts. I'm sure it would suck but it would be interesting.
New TV show Powerless does this to perfection. Absolutely hilarious.

His politics and the liberal tongue bath aside, I'd humbly suggest looking up some other work he's behind before writing him off completely.

And this seems very fricky.

Wow. Not sure why everyone is upset about this. Sorkin is a great - great - writer.

There's potential here for him and Snyder to be lifelong best friends then.

Sorkin's never read a comic book. Snyder's never read a comic book that he understands. Match made in Heaven.

I get the whole SJW bashing, but I have to agree with you on this. Three movies that he wrote which were great (and at least to me, didn't appear to have a liberal bias) were Moneyball, The Social Network, and Steve Jobs. Of course the question still remains, is that style of writing fit for DCEU/MCU?

glad to see you're making an informed decision based on actual content

If you watch his work and hate it that's fine, I know dems that hate his work and repubs who like it. but to hate it because of his name just shows how close minded you are

Comic book movie + Aaron Sorkin writing = the most insufferable movie of all time. Could you imagine that walk and talk bullshite with Downey and and those other clowns?

he could write the shite out of a Hawkeye movie based on Matt Fraction's run.

Was going to say this very thing.

How about Hollywood just take a TO from superhero movies for a few years

We can always regroup and come back but I think it's time for a break

These movies are killing it at the box office. Why would a studio take a TO right now?

He'll do fine with DC

What a weird thread. Sorkin is great at what he does.

I'd watch a superhero movie written by Sorkin in a heartbeat. It would be interesting. What a bunch of fricktards in this thread.

I loved The Social Network. I liked Sports Night. I've seen A Few Good Men multiple times. I imagine Sorkin's political views are similar to mine.
But I still find the guy absolutely insufferable and avoid most of the shite he has anything to do with. And it drives me batty when people go on about the fricking West Wing.

Honestly, I don't think he'd do a good job with Fraction's Hawkeye. Clint is a working class hero hanging out with his neighbors and arguing with his brother... those are not things that Sorkin does well. He doesn't do working class characters, and he honestly doesn't do family drama that well. Sorkin is good at wordplay, white collar smart asses, and workplace comedies...

That sounds much more like the infamous "Ask Me About My Feminist Agenda" Mockingbird, the current run on Spider-Woman, or Soule's She-Hulk. Maybe Captain Marvel, though they are asking for blowback if they don't get a female director for that one.

I now want a comedy based on She-Hulk Attorney at Law. Think Harvey Birdman, only more smashing.

Read She-Hulk by Soule. It's not as over the top as Harvey Birdman, but it's a lawyer comedy. She gets into Superhero Law. It's kind of great.

I bet he reads all of Alan Moore's Saga of the Swamp Thing and writes something for DC.

But yeah, he could do a great Hawkeye by Fraction. God that run is good.
