Along with agencies that help economic growth in the south and NE. I'm shocked he's also cutting the agency that investigates corporate chemical accidents. I'm not surprised a man who has no culture, who can't put together a coherent statement and has made a living off scamming people that these would be his first cuts. Not the bloated Military budget or corporate welfare but the programs to help people succeed and grow internationally. So we're gonna have people who can't read or understand culture be ruled over by corporations. Who knew idiocracy was a documentary?

I didn't realize you still needed government funded programs in 2017 to have access to books and art. You learn something new every day. Maybe some time down the road people will invent a World Wide Web of sorts where you could find these things on the line.

So before 1965, the year of the NEA's creation, the poor did not have access to art? Give me a break.

You people are why it is impossible to end a government program once it starts, even if it was meant to be temporary. You have no ability whatsoever to comprehend the possibility that other people and entities will step in to take the place of the government.

Americans spent 17.07 BILLION DOLLARS in 2016 on arts and entertainment. You think none of that was money spent by the poor?

Broken window fallacy.

Man, you guys simply worship the government. It is the difference between hell and heaven to y'all.

None of those agencies do anything. Read the report the Trump administration released explaining their reasoning. Most of the "groups for the poor" have DUPLICATE efforts elsewhere in the government that are far more effective.

Fail thread.

From hearing some of the poor speak and seeing test scores, I'm pretty sure they weren't taking advantage of libraries anyway?

Well, maybe if you read Article I, Section 8 of the Constitution, you would see that none of those things mentioned are part of the federal government's enumerated powers. Those programs are the responsibility of state and local governments.

With all due respect, this comes off as more whiny liberal b.s. The government should have nothing to do with books and fostering "culture." These are just liberal money grabs and give aways. Shouldn't culture be a locally funded thing, e.g., symphony, ballets, museums, etc.

You are a pathetic wretch. These cuts are wonderful. The fat bloated unnecessary shite is being cut out. You should be thankful that snivelling liberal snowflakes are not "cut" (yet).

The poor don't access culture. Culture is aesthetic and theoretical. It's not connected to their lives or mindsets in any real way.

And TJ is back in the lead for board's biggest tard!

Good job little buddy. I know you had to fight off a serious effort from Strong Safety the past couple of days, but you held tough.

All items that should be supported locally.

Totally ok with this.

The nanny state has to end.
