Ideas for temporary carpeting in aluminum boat

Have a camo aluminum boat - 16 ft with side console steering . Diamond plate style on the floor surface and smooth on the front and back deck surfaces. For the summer months/fishing I'd like to be able to put down some carpeting to reduce heat (so I can take my shoes off) and make things a bit quieter.
I considered trying to just cut the carpet and then use some epoxy and snap button kit to just snap the carpeting down. When the carpet is off this would only leave a handful of snap button pieces on the perimeter of the boat.
Any other ideas on this?

Have you thought about buying some of the garage/shop floor mats and cutting them to size? Thinking about the interlocking mats.
If you use carpet instead of epoxy drill and rivet the snap to the deck instead.

What about on the floor though?
And on floor mats - would these stay where they are while running the boat? in the wind?

A few guys on tinboats.net use horse stall mats.

My buddy's uncle uses these and they don't budge while we are moving.

What do you mean on the floor? Rivet the male snap on the deck of the boat and the female will rivet onto the carpet.
For the mats I'd probably get a good two sided tape. Let me think on that one some more.

Those are exactly what I'm thinking about.

I would go with the pictured restaurant floor mats and try to find a light color. Option 2 would be go to tractor supply and buy horse stall rubber mats. They are cheap but only come in black. They might get a little hot.
Restaurant mats are pretty heavy. I wouldnt be concerned with them flying out.

I would cut some plywood to fit the floor and glue some carpet to the plywood...put it in for summer and take it out for hunting season.

Yeah they work great. And they are heavy and don't budge. He takes them out after every trip and hoses them down and it makes the boat easier to clean since they are removable. I believe it's the best way to go.

Bar floor mats and heavy duty velcro

What about something like seadek?

Does your boat currently have a floor or are you walking on ribs?
If you walking on ribs get some aluminum plate, cut it to size and coat it with sea-deck. You'll leave it in year round. If you not walking on ribs and currently have a plate floor then cover that with sea-deck. Stuff is wonderful.

I would do this. Snaps on generic outdoor carpet are going to rip out pretty quickly. To make that work you will need some fairly heavy weight carpet.

Put on some hydroturf and you will never worry about it again.

This is what my dad did to his aluminum boat. Worked out very well.

I put the grey colored interlocking mats down with some glue. Lasted about 10 years in my aluminum boat. The first one came up just recently.
Edit. The other reason I liked the pads is to eliminate the sound of dropping something while fishing. Especially when u drop a fish and its flopping all over the place.

Get the hydro turf with the 3m backing. Cut to size and stick.
