Damn. I always thought 9 over was the accepted number.
I set my cruise at speed limit plus 9 everywhere I go and don't even scan for cops. I'd be pissed if I got one for 6 over.

I drive like 50,000 miles a year but have to deal with the same driving record standards as people comutting around town. It's unjust, but I deal.

Hang one of your boobs out when you get stopped

Have driven I-10 constantly between TX, LA, and FL, for years, I set the cruise on 70, no detector, no tickets, no problems.

Six over sucks.
Generally the rule of thumb is 10%.
So six over in a $60 will get you.
My advice. Get a lawyer for every ticket. You wind up paying less and they get it as a non moving violation.
Also get a really good radar detector. Even if it's a half week's pay, it's worth it.

I regularly drive 10 over on the interstate and 5 over on the highway. I haven't been ticketed once in the last year.

Man, I don't know you but I take i10 from Nola
To BR a few times a week and some people drive like maniacs, especially in the morning.

The speed limit is 65 and 70. Who in the hell needs to go faster than that?

My Escort alerts me to virtually every cop within a half mile. I'm surpised how they just ride around with radar on. With laser, by the time it detects it they already got you. But I can count on one hand the number of times I've encountered laser in the past 4 years. And I do a pretty good amount of interstate travel. My radar detector is worth its weight in gold.

Speed limits on highways are bullshite and money grabbers. There should be no speed limit unless the highway goes through a city or populated area.

I live in Ruston and usually drive right at 75 mph on I-20. I'm all over it between Shreveport and Monroe. Only place I ever see cars being stopped going that speed is in Ruston. The rest of the Troopers, sheriffs and city cops act like they don't see me if I'm 75 or under except for the Ruston cops.

Escort 360 with the laser shifter pro and you'll be undetectable. Pisses cops off when you fly by them while they're shooting laser and can't pick your speed up

Higher end of the Escort detectors with the Bluetooth software.

not speeding lowers the chance of getting speeding tickets.
