TJ Ribs coming to Prairieville

TJ Ribs has signed a lease for a 6,800-square-foot building near the intersection of Airline Highway and Perkins Road in Prairieville with plans to open its third local restaurant by May 22.
The popular barbecue chain will take over the space at 37436 Ultima Plaza Blvd., which has been home for several restaurants, most recently Sliders Sports Grill.
The restaurant will have the same menu as the TJ Ribs locations on South Acadian Thruway and Siegen Lane, said Todd McKearn, vice president of operations. One new feature is that the Prairieville space has a patio.
“That will be a lot of fun and there possibilities with it,” McKearn said. About 70 employees will work at the restaurant.
The move works out well for TJ Ribs. The original Acadian Thruway location is set to undergo a significant remodeling beginning in July, which will involve gutting the interior, replacing the roof, building a gift shop in front and adding a cochon de lait pit where a pig will be roasted daily.
“We’ll be able to have our Acadian Thruway employees working in Prairieville while we remodel,” McKearn said. Plans are to finish the work in time for LSU football season.

That's a good place for them. BBQ is tough to find in AP period.
TJ's aint the best (or really BBQ), but their ribs are pretty decent and will be a nice option for the area.
They should put the next one near Tanger.

Have not enjoyed my last few visits seems like they have let quality slip

Their sales numbers have increased by about 50% in the last two years. I'm sure they are having trouble handling that volume at times

Didn't the poster Beauxnes used to manage TJ Rib's?

Yes.
I go to TJ Ribs for 1 reason: Wings. Best wings in Baton Rouge, IMHO

Troof. They need to open a location in Geismar at the interstate. They'd make a killing off of the plants and the outlet mall. Every restaurant that opens in that area prints money.
I'm REALLY interested in the pig pit at the Acadian location and what they're going to be able to do with it.

Hannah Qs down the street is pretty solid BBQ (for the area). I've heard good things about Pimanyolis the other direction as well.
Good luck to TJ ribs with that 12k rent

Nice....Wish this side of town could also get a Zea, J Alexanders and a La Madeleine too. I'd even take a PF Chang's.

Hannah Q is solid. Pimanyolis isn't bad but the service is shite and the lady is a total bitch

I like Hannah Q though I've found it inconsistent. I'm hoping that was just growing pains. I will continue to eat there.

La Madeleines was the only decent option you mentioned. Maybe we can get a few extra McDonald's, BKS and Church's Chicken as well....

.99 cent Margaritas the likely revenue generator?
I went to the Siegen location last night and they were packed to capacity.
Saw a few complaints go out. Can't comment on tips or lack thereof, but I suspect these two go hand in hand.
Our meal was great.
