Any CPAP users here?

I'm going for a sleep study tonight.
More than likely I'm going to end up needing a cpap.
If you have one, do you sleep better and night and what I really want to know is do you feel better the next day? Better as in rested.

My dad uses one. Has made a world of difference for him.
He used to fall asleep standing up.

I have apnea and was RX'd a Cpap a couple of years back. I hate it, but recently put it back on. I'm going to try it once more and see if I can get used to it because my fatigue has become a problem.

I sleep much better with it. It's going to take some time getting used to wearing it but just stick it out and you won't be able to sleep without it,

Yes.
I used to fall asleep all the time during the day, was constantly tired, waking up several times every night... I haven't napped since I got the cpap. It took a while to get used to (and the sleep study sucked) but it works wonders.

Yes, it helps tremendously. I also just got that Philips Dreamwear mask people were talking about in the other thread, and holy shite is it so much better than the standard nasal pillows.
If you end up with a CPAP, get that mask. You'll thank me later.

Yes, they help tremendously. I jsut got a new mask as well, the Philips Dreamwear. Best mask I have ever had. Doesn't cause me any issues.
Finding the right mask is key.

The first time you use one, the sensation is almost like you are drowning. If you try and talk out of your mouth, it feels like the air is being sucked out of your lungs.
After about a week you will adjust to all of that.
I honestly don't notice a big difference in my quality of sleep. However, I don't tend to wake up with headaches anymore.

Only problem I have is when sleeping on my side facing the machine. The hose on top of your head can be troublesome.

Try this thread, OP.
Couldn't do the magnet.
I get a yearly MRI after having a brain tumor removed a few years ago.

I have sleep apnea but, I've always said I want to die in my sleep so, I don't use a CPAP

I had a sleep consultation yesterday and have my study scheduled for next Thursday night. I tried several masks with the air flow and think the nasal pillow will work for me. I was amazed at how much better I felt all afternoon yesterday after having the air flow for only a couple of minutes trying on masks. I wish my study was tonight so I could start the process quicker.

If you hit the gym instead of the buffet more often you probably wouldn't need a cpap

That's a technique

I was sleeping so shitty before that it never bothered me to sleep with it. I fall asleep within minutes and wake up before the alarm clock most mornings ready to go. Made a HUGE improvement in my energy levels. I have only slept without it maybe three or four times in the last year due to tent camping trips and it sucked.

You can get a battery system for it... of course then you'd have to lug all of that around on a camping trip.

Post it 3 more times....maybe it'll get funny sooner or later.
