Marco Rubio dismisses notion Trump might not last four years

Rubio, who lost to Trump in the Republican primary last year, says the country needs to roll up its sleeves and come together rather than worry about whether the president will last the full four years. 

'I’m just doing my job up here,' Rubio told TMZ at Reagan National Airport in Washington. 

'We gotta just take care of the country. We’ll see how it all plays out.'

'That happened a few years ago as well. I think it’s alright to disagree on things. We gotta figure out things we can work together on.'

'In the end, I’m not going anywhere,' he said. 'The other people aren’t going anywhere. We’re gonna be in America together. We might as well make it work.'

Rubio said that Americans will have to try and find common ground despite the partisan rancor. 

'On the things we disagree on, we can have a debate about it,' Rubio said. 

'But on the things we can make progress on, we should try. That’s what I’m gonna try to do. I hope it works.'
