You don't have to pay them anything if you get WWOOF volunteers

farmer joe is going to pass those costs on to us.
Getting rid of illegals with lower wages would cause product cost to rise.
But...
Moving minimum wage to $15/hour wouldn't spike product cost.
Gotta love the liberal mindset...

if he was hiring illegals then he is a felon and he should be locked up. we have the best laws don't we?
doesn't make sense? i'd be more inclined to show him some discretion if he absorbed the costs of hiring people on the up and up.
Maybe they were legal? He didn't say illegal.
You must work for the government. Most businesses can't absorb price shocks and keep operating. Increased labor will result in increased consumer pricing.

might as well be.
World Wide Opportunities on Organic Farms - basically, I would house and feed someone anywhere from 2 weeks to 7 or 8 months in exchange for ~20 hours of labor. Pretty decent deal for both parties. Lots of young students and foreigners who want to travel and 'get back to the land'.

I live in Alabama and could use some extra work. Will those farmers pay me a respectable wage to entice me to come out there? If so, sign me up.
Absolutely they will! Now it will involve you paying a more respectable price at the grocery store for tomatoes........

I got a nephew who did that for about 15 years. Him and some buddies drift harvest to harvest, make some jack and move on. Funny part is, they'd work their asses off and then at the end of their last harvest they would go down to Mexico and blow it all. Definitely a free spirit.

Self-deporting. Nice, but that was 6 years ago, so fake news.
