Gotta go with the NBA. Everyone is either a Cavs or Warriors fan and were Heat fans a couple years ago.

MLB is up there too. Basically all Red Sox, Yankees and Cubs fans

Pels FTW
but once they are out of it, which is basically early every year, i'm going for whoever LeBron plays for....

NBA is the only league where a healthy amount of fans cheer for players ahead of teams.

Two of those aren't like the other.
The Red Sox and Cubs fans are the opposite of band wagon fans, both of those franchised have some of the best sport despite going 100 years without a title.

When the Cubs won the WS the MSB called every Cubs fan a bandwagoner

perhaps.... but being from south LA growing a Chicago Bulls fan because of MJ and Pippen, i don't feel bad about it at all...
but now that we do have a local team, they are the priority... for example tonight... love LeBron and all, but they played the pelicans and i was rooting for him to lose... any other night, i'm pulling for him...

MSB is not always right

True dat. I'd like to say, in 2043, when the Twins next make the playoffs, I was here first!

NBA. People base fanhood on player instead of team. Lots of Cavs, then Heat, then Cavs again fans out there. Also, probably lots of former Thunder fans now rocking Warriors jerseys too.

quote:Definitely. It's the sport where the fans are the closest, the players are the least covered, the scoring is the highest, and occasionally the best player just takes over. Not to mention that the best players are on the court 80% of the time, whereas in football and baseball, you're automatically on the bench half the time.

Not in England
It's very local and tribal.

Agree. A friend of mine from college was from Wiltshire and you'd have thought Swindon Town was Man U or Chelsea.

I would say CFB is pretty bad. 1 out of every 3 fans is either a Bama/tOSU fan.
MLB is the same with the Red Sox/Yankess
