Was the Rant happy about this hire or did posters here respond negatively?

I did not view the Rant when we brought Cam aboard, but listening to talk shows on 870, 610 and ESPN 104-5, the majority of callers viewed the hire as a smart move by Miles.

We don't really know what we have in Matt Canada, but I feel like this is a better hire than Cam. Cam was on a decline, getting fired by the Ravens in 2012, and after that firing, the Ravens went on to win the Super Bowl. I felt like, NFL and college aside, that 2012 season proved that Cam was in over his head, and it wouldn't be any different at the college level.

I was happy about it, and naively thought that, given their history, Les would completely entrust the offense to him. Whoops.

I was excited until my good friend who is a huge Ravens fan said he sucked.

I didn't hate the hire at all. I still think he was the scapegoat fire. I like the Canada hire better but I believe Cameron was handcuffed by Miles. JMO

I was cautiously optimistic. Optimistic bc he came from high pedigree. Cautious bc his SB winning NFL team fired him before reaching the playoffs.

I don't remember but I would think I thought...well he got fired and they won the superbowl and he is an nfl oc so he must know how to attack defenses

It was loved bringing in a proven OC from the NFL. He was going to change the offense and make it more NFL like.

With a few wrinkles and some different plays here and there, the offense basically looked the same from 2005-2016. That encompasses 5 different hired offensive coordinators in 11 seasons, if you count Kragthorpe.

The only time the offense was dynamic was when there was a QB that was not developed in Miles' system, i.e., Flynn and Mettenberger. Even with the great offensive talent in 2012-2013, the offense was not always efficient.

I blame Miles. I really do.

Don't think Cam ever really had a chance. Evidently Miles handcuffed him and was the cause of all the chaos. I can't imagine an NFL coach and OC being that inept. It is on Cam that he allowed Miles to ruin whatever reputation he had left .

How talented was that 2013 Offense?

Jarvis Landry
OBJ
Jeremy Hill
Kenny Hilliard
Zach Mettenberger

It still burns me that we weren't able to outscore Georgia in 2013, and that we weren't able to put up more than 17 against Bama. And of course, the sh*tty game we played against a banged up, depleted Ole Miss team.

I would mention Arky, but we won, so I'm happy.

I was excited. Especially when I saw the receivers catching passes around the goal post!

I understand a young up and coming OC allow that but an accomplished OC who doesn't really need the money shouldn't. I would say frick this shite, your style is making me look bad.

I was very happy. I remember pulling over in a parking lot just to hear his press conference. Former NFL HC and coordinator, surely he can run an offense and develop QB's. Almost felt like he was over qualified for the job with that kind of experience but were fortunate to have that Miles connection to reel him in.

I was frickin way off!
