We will be far better off going into this next season, with new OC (Canada), DC (Aranda) returning, and new head coach "O"(regardless of his perceived weaknesses) than we were or would have been with Miles and Cameron at the helm.

Even the "O" haters have to concede that....

It was time for Les to move on. Not many will argue that with you.

Where does our head coach rank on his own coaching staff?

Is that acceptable to you?

This year, that may be true.

The major question is further down the road.

I don't hate O, but I did think his tenure got out to a rocky start. However, being rid of Miles is worth whatever comes next.

I don't think anyone here wanted to retain Miles and Cam so I'm not sure who this thread is intended for.

Only as good as the weakest link... It won't matter how good Canada and Aranda are if the captain doesn't keep the ship on course.

It can of course happen but don't count your rings yet baw

We'd be even better off going into this next season with the new OC, DC returning, and a new head coach that wasn't Ed Orgeron.

Just because I think a quick hire of O was stupid and lazy doesn't mean I want Miles back. I've wanted him gone for at least 2 years. Just think we were at a cross roads, make LSU a permanent national contender or settle for a top middle of the pack SEC team. I think the hire of O is that later of those two.

Even with good coordinators, O's ceiling will be 6-2 in the SEC. That won't get us to Atlanta anytime soon.

nobody "hates" O.

I wasn't in favor of his hiring, but there's nothing for me to "hate" about the guy. I just didn't think he was qualified to be our HC.

Stop using "hate" to describe the legitimate concerns of fans that think O wasn't the right choice.

He has made some good moves and he has bungled some moves to this point. None of this means success on the field at this point. We shall see. There is reason for optimism and also reasons for skepticism.

LSU or coach O I should say has hit a homerun. They have two excellent young coordinators that will get the best finally out of that great talent that LSU always has. A lot of people will have doubts about the HC because the country will probably think of him as a Cajun version of Les Miles, but he has done a great job in maintaining the staff and hiring these two guys. Now if only he can get back the talent that Alabama or Saban keeps stealing out of LA because if you wanna win you can't let guys like Moses, Allen, Buggs and whoever else may be jumping ship to go to Alabama. That's just unacceptable.

He hasn't won a game at LSU yet. I reserve judgment until this time next year.

Agreed.
I am far from an Orgeron "hater". I have posted multiple times that he was a better choice than the second tier candidates who were being mentioned. Plus, he is a step up from Miles.
However, some of his decisions and steps looked clumsy in the past few weeks. Hopefully, going forward, he will be more sure footed. The key is to finish recruiting strong.
IMO, the Bama game was predictable and the UF game was all about turnovers and the breaks not going our way. The game was won everywhere except the scoreboard.

Just think if we had a qualified head coach leading these great coordinators.

Next season will be Coach O's best season, and it won't be that great.
