How much more awesome would Christmas be without the presents.

If we could just focus all of that time and money spent on shopping for meaningless gifts into extending a helping hand to the less fortunate or helping quality charity organizations and hanging out with family with no strings attached...

I agree. shite is out of control. And then everyone expects a bonus. frick, do I really need to give my mailman a holiday tip? I don't even know who the frick it is.

I'm sorry that's what you consider your holiday family time to be, Ryno. Hanging out with "strings attached".
That makes me sad for you.

I did that this year
Gave all the money I would spend on gifts or local charities to the project digging the Cards Against Humanity hole

My family did this once. It's less awesome in real life than in your mind.

It's called Festivus. Celebrated on December 23rd.

That's called Thanksgiving.

It would suck arse for kids. Christmas was magical as a kid. I'm not taking that experience from them.

as someone who grew up never having Christmas, I can tell you firsthand that it fricking sucks

A whole hell of a lot better. Well, retail wouldn't like it, but the reason I prefer Thanksgiving over Christmas is because there isn't much hassle for Thanksgiving. For Christmas, it seems like some people have so much going on or trying to do stuff last second that they don't enjoy it at all.

We already have it. It's called Thanksgiving.

No. Uber religious parents who thought Christmas was too commercialized and secular.
