Nope didn't miss any. Cardale jones isn't a running qb 3ypc 19 yards per game and 2tds the year he started at ohio state in a spread option offense 4tds his entire career. Plus Andrew luck Alex smith Blane gabbert Matt Flynn Christian ponder and ton more ran faster 40 times so wrong on that one and it's pretty racist to say a qb is a runner just because he's black. Blake sims didn't win a national title nice try but sorry wrong again. Jalen hurts also hasn't won a national title so like I said 3 since 2000.

Traditionally pro styled but we should play to the strengths of the best talent we have behind center.

Whatever gives them more W's than L's

Here's why I have a problem with all this spread va pro stuff. There are waaaaaay more than two options for offenses in football and guess what? We ran neither pro nor spread under Les Miles.
Watch games on Sunday and show me one team that looks like LSU. Show me one team that tosses the ball to their RB for a B gap dive. Show me one team in the NFL not named the 49ers who are not interested in developing a passing game and who don't stack plays on top of each other to catch the defense off guard.
The offense LSU should run is somewhere in between Texas Tech and the old LSU offense, but there are a lot of different options in between

It doesn't matter. We need a balanced offense that can be adapted to fit the personnel, not the other way around. We need an OC who is creative enough to adapt the scheme to the best QB for the job.

Too fast to type - slow to read
Cardale - how fast he ran and ypc irrelevant. How he was used in the title game is. As stated in my post, he literally ran over defenders in key plays during the title game (didn't the start the entire season as that he was 3rd team). Ran zone read very effectively that game.
Blake Sims - didn't say he won a "national championship". He won the SEC "championship" (as stated in my post).
Jalen Jurts - again host says if/when. Recognizes Bama as heavy favs.
i could care less about skin color. Merely pointing out that if Bama wins this year, will represent a growing trend an shift in offensive philosophy.
I have nothing against pro style QBs. However, having the ability to throw AND run, has proven beneficial for a number of championship squads since 2000.

I prefer a true pro-style offense mixed with some spread elements. However, it doesn't matter what offense you run if your o-line is getting blown up. Fix the line and get a competent quarterback and this team with Aranda's defense will play for championships.

Do you watch "pro" football? Tell me the teams that don't spread it out.

Sounds like a future Florida commit.

Agreed. I will say I want a run first type offense, a steal your soul running game, but effective passing game that can be counted on to have its act together in a 2-minute drill.

All of the above. I want to see someone assess our talent and call the best plays to score the most points. What ever happened to creativity. It doesn't have to always be such a finite set of standards.

What? I just wanted to know which you prefered. Pro style or Spread??? I don't give a rats arse what is run in the pros or at any other school in the SEC or the Nation.

I never said sec championships you're changing the discussion and I am talking about the way ohio st used jones. 19 yards per game rushing in a spread option offense is not using him to run at all because he's not a runner. Again 13 of the last 16 national championships were won by passing QBS running QBS don't win titles.

Spread with some pistol mixed in. I'm also a fan of high temp at the proper moments in a game.
Posted on 12/5/16 at 3:53 pm to omegaman66
Spread because Lsu can't find a good pro style qb but we have a ton of athletes that could play qb in a power spread type offense. La high schools have done it for years. Time for Lsu to do it. Imo.

Whatever best fits the talent on the roster. Whatever plays best to our QBs strengths or lack thereof.
It would be great to see more RPOs. Those plays are almost like cheating. Impossible to defend when executed properly. Just nasty. You try to go for the QB, he pitches it to the RB. Try to defend the QB and the RB, the QB passes it right over your head.

Hybrid offense, too much spread endangers your defense.
