You think if one thing is easier to find than another thing, one thing is common and the other is uncommon?

It's easier for me to find burger joints than fried chicken restaurants. Say it with me. Burger joints are common, fried chicken restaurants are...

Sure. And what do you mean by correct? In respect of what discussion? I believe that there are several separate discussions going on simultaneously.

Also pretty damn common, just not quite as common as cooked. Seriously, in Gonzales alone, a small town of like 3000 people, there are no fewer than 4 places serving sushi. There are more sushi restaurants than McDonald's restaurants! It's not uncommon.

I looked up sushi bars in Baton Rouge on Yelp. 34.

He's not even talking about sushi. He's talking about raw preparations in general.

Which are quite common.

As I said, I would gather that most steakhouses alone have either a carpaccio or tartare.

Why are you trying to inject "as common as" into the argument? No one said that prior to your post.

not to mention ceviche, which is pretty common at decent mexican places.

Raw meat is fairly common at nice restaurants. I think that is the catch, you can't be going to chilis and expect to see raw meat.

I know some pretty stuck up people but I have never met anyone who gets all uppity about SUSHI - not exactly odd, rare, unusual, or uncommon. It's plentiful in any place of any size.

I think the people thinking sushi is some cult pushed by its devotees are making this up. No one is pushing sushi on anyone.

Delusional.

I'm sick of sushi eaters that feel so cultured because they eat sushi.

I ate sushi while watching Giro Dreams of Sushi. I'm like a 9/10 on the culture scale.

I mean yeah.

Not to mention the word "common" is completely subjective.

All of those things would be common to me because I eat at good restaurants and haven't been to a chain like Applebees or Chilis in many many years.

Because everyone I know who hates sushi hasn't tried it.

I'm also going to guess you like your steaks well done.

I've had sushi all over the world, from sushi "trucks" in Japan, to nice sushi bars in Sao Paulo, to some of what are considered to be the "finest" sushi restaurants in various countries, and to me, it's glorified fish bait , that if not seriously enhanced with something to provide some flavor, is pretty boring, and not very fulfilling

ETA: to include sushimi
