Did it spread to Sevierville? I know it's up away from Pigeon Forge, just curious.

Wonder where all the people after any hurricane blaming residents for living in such a hurricane-prone area are for this unfortunate event.

Well Gatlinburg is not exactly a wildfire prone place and certainly not as prone to them as the coast is to Hurricanes

I'm not trying to say residents of the coast should be blamed for hurricanes but you are (as usual) full of shite with this

They decided to keep it closed due to downed trees.......Cades Cove is open at this time. Best to come in through Townsend. Still best to visit the NC side of the park.

We just left there Sunday morning. Had a great Thanksgiving week vacation.

Now today, I'm seeing that the Riverhouse is partially burnt. That's where we always stay. What a giant kick to the gut.

last thing I heard that it was at Dollywood's back door, trees were falling with embers staring fires, but was not in the park.

I'm spending a shiteload of money next time I go to Gatlinburg. Hopefully the people who go there will keep coming back to help its economy back on its feet.

The Ogle's will sure love you for it. A fire won't keep the people away. They really need less people going to that area if anything. I'd love to see the park start charging admission, but that won't ever happen because of how the park was created.

I love Townsend. Great alternative to Gatlinburg if you don't care much for crowds. Very peaceful.

Now, I might make an effort of going up there to Gatlinburg in the spring to do a little hiking just to put some money into their economy.

I was literally in contact with two cabin owners yesterday to make reservations for next year's Tennessee game/Smokey mountain vacation with kids.

We are definitely still going with an increased sense of purpose now. But will hold off to see how everyone makes out and what cabins are available before booking trip.

Yea, it was a great trip for us as well amazing it looks like it does now because it was beautiful last week.

I mean we saw the fires from Clingman's dome and other areas but they were not near Gatlinburg.

PS: Saw a bunch of LSU fans while there...
