We do that here in the NC mountains. There are hundreds of xmas tree farms within an hour of us.

When or if we have kids I'm sure we will. Until then I'll buy a lil 4' tree and get hammered decorating it.

As someone who used to work for a tree farm, I would love for you to cut your own tree down

We go to Tiger Branch Christmas Trees in Covington; they cut them down for us, but ti's the closest thing we can get to doing it ourselves. And definitely better than the lots that truck them in and let them sit unwatered in this heat.

I take my daughter to pick out a tree every year. We don't cut one down ourselves at a tree farm, but we do get a real one. A company from Wisconsin I think sets up shop at the mini-golf parking lot in nov-dec.
