Put it in a cup. Don't make a big deal out of it. Common sense.

Thank God, no. Booze and holidays are pretty engrained in my family. Can't imagine the holidays without heavy drinking.

Put it in your drink. Just hide it, not that hard.

I bought two fifths of bourbon for tomorrow

We usually start drinking around 10. Light drinking until lunch.

The women drink tea, the men drink whiskey.

They do know Jesus was perfect right? And he turned water into wine so everyone could turn up?...They bible tells us to that drinking wine will make us happy...and is also good for helping your stomach.

My parents are the same way, but I sat them down and showed them scriptures of where it wasnt wrong. So bring a 6-pack and a bible..

Or get over it and go a day without drinking

Let me see if I can figure this out:
1) Your grandparents have strong convictions
2) They probably love on you and treat you like a king
3) They're probably very thankful and great people
4) You sit around and complain to others about how they're ridiculous
5) Other family members talk about your drinking problem
6) Guess we have figured out the real loser
7) anything else?

What are you 16?

Get a flask and make it work.

JHC I've been taking a flask of scotch to every dinner event since my fraternity days.

It wasn't until I started dating in college that I realized people in other families drink at all holidays/family gatherings. My grandparents on my mom's side that usually hosts these things don't drink.

Yes.

There is never any alcohol at my family gathering.

Somehow I'm able to survive.

The OP asked a question, there actually wasn't an initial complaint to all those calling him an alcoholic. He didn't say he wouldn't abide by house rules. Same as me being 35 and living with my bf. If I go visit my parents, either we sleep separately or get a hotel. I think their rules are dumb, but I respect them or find an alternative. I can still think their rules are dumb.
