Does it bother anyone that we will likely not have both O and Aranda anymore?

The odds of Orgeron staying if not given the HC job are extremely slim imo. Those two together are such a great duo. Just sucks that we wanted and dreamed for Orgeron to come here for so many years and we will probably lose him after this season (unless both Fisher and Herman say no and O wins out, imo)

I'd still love to see Orgeron as HC, Aranda as DC, Kiffin or another top OC, and Myles Brennan at QB and just see what happens.

After the Bama game though, I believe you have to make Herman and Fisher tell you no first. If they do, and O wins out, I think it should be him next.

I don't see where O leaving is a given. He will make a shite ton of money as DL and RC next year.

If we hire Aranda as HC, I bet we still have him so I don't see a problem

This is my big fear. Big more concern is that Saban fired Bo Davis before the season bc of a recruiting violation. If he hires O we are in big trouble recruiting wise.

I love O and Aranda as much as the next guy but I'm an LSU fan...not an O or Aranda fan.

Assistant coaches have an impact but it isn't near as big as head coaches. Give me a long term solid HC over those two for 2 years any day.

We can't let any of that scare us out of making the right move. Assistants leave all the time. That's life. That's why it's important to have a solid head coach. That's part of his job to fix those missing holes.

I would rather lose O than Aranda, TBH. I have more faith that we can replace a good recruiter than an elite defensive mind like Aranda.

We will keeo aranda the most important man on the staff atm. O is unlikely but making him perm HC just so he stays is a bad move.

I wanted the 3 you named a few weeks ago as well, but Aranda is just too fricking good. i thought we'd have a few years but theres no way, not after games like Saturday. that might be the best defense Ive ever seen at LSU.

12 years ago, we did nothing wrong yet still got fricked out of saban. 2 days ago, our first year DC stared down the best team in the country and beat the shite out of them like no one ever has. this was only the second time in 8 years saban has been held to 10 or less.

so how about we not relive our nightmare a second time and make sure Aranda never leaves. i know Orgeron has the inside track but just ask yourself who the best coach on the staff is. now ask yourself if thats the one we're promoting.

I know it's not a popular opinion in this thread, but O is replaceable. Not easily, but there are dline coaches out there as good as him, and juluke or Craig can take over RC. If jimbo takes over, I have no fears as far as recruiting.

I'm the other hand, we will not find a a DC as good as aranda.

What happens is Arranda and Kiffin both get HC gigs in a minimum of 2 years.
