What should I bring as a dinner guest?

I ran into my elementary school teacher from like 15 years ago, and she and her husband invited me to dinner with their three kids. I'm probably overthinking this, but I have to bring something, right? I don't know much about wine... Do I bring wine? With three kids under 10, wine may not be the right call. I have no idea. Help.

....like just you?
with them and their kids?
I'd bring condoms because you are about to have sex with your teacher while the husband watches

Why don't you ask? I don't see anything wrong with bringing a bottle of wine, its not like it needs to be a personal that you drink straight from the bottle. Do you think parents don't drink? A desserts not a bad idea, maybe something the kids would enjoy depending on their age.

I never like to show up empty handed to someone's house. I'd bring a dessert since its dinner with children.

Yup. And flowers for the wife with a hotel keycard inside.

You bring a Hostess Gift. Just google it.
Something small for her. You should ask "what can I bring?" insofar as contributing to the meal.
But, show up with the simple hostess gift whether they say "bring an appetizer, dessert, etc" or "nothing. Just show up"
It can be a simple as some flowers to put in a vase.

A bottle of goldschlager always works. It says, "I'm classy because I bring the gold, but I'm also fun because it has liquor with it"

Just based on the info given. If it were a close friend or family, sure, I'd probably bring two bottles... but an elementary school teacher from 15 yrs ago, with kids? What if they don't drink? Or don't like wine?
I think a shareable dessert is a good safe choice given the situation.

Not sure what to bring to the party, but you should definitely bring pics of the girl to this thread!
