I always wondered if these captive tigers are used to humans enough to be domesticated or still would maul you to death. Asking from a distance.
Like jones said. Even his "playing" would frick you up quick.
If he really wanted to harm you, he could literally kill you in seconds.
The fact is that he's an unpredictable apex predator who's never had to hunt before. His instincts would tell him to kill and eat a weak human being.

Motherfrick cancer
No Zoo in the Country has only 1 Tiger in an exhibit. It's always a family unit.
This is the Zenith of Cruelty to Animals............

STFU.
You never, ever have anything good to say about the LSU football program. Miles is gone and you continue to dump on the program.
If that's how you feel about the program then that's how you feel.
But to dump on an animal, that has no knowledge about what life outside of captivity is like, is low and shameful. Mike was born in captivity, you nimrod.
He lives better than most humans.
You should be ashamed of yourself for attempting to make an agenda out of this.
I know you're trolling, just as well as you even though you'll never admit it.
Mike has around the clock 1st rate medical care, he has never been mistreated.

Adult male tigers are solitary animals who only seek out other tigers for breeding.

Then, zoos are doing it wrong. Tigers don't get a house in the subs and live as a family. Makes love alone and find females to breed.

I wish I could tell all of his caretakers how much they are appreciated. I worked at a vet clinic years ago, and it is so hard to help take care of someone's beloved pet when it's hurt or sick and you're hoping it can pull through somehow. It's easy to get attached, and it's really, really hard when their time comes.
Mike has been their focus for a long time. And for us, he has been fun to watch grow up, batting his favorite ball around, swimming in his pond, and sitting just inches away from our kids like a photo op just waiting to happen.
But all of the people that have taken care of him for these past, way too few years, have a special bond with him.
Thank you to all of them. And thank you Mike. Out of all the Mike's I have seen since I moved to Baton Rouge when I was a kid, you are a special cat. We will miss you very much.

You are absolutely missinformed. I actually exchanged emails with the director of Big Cats in Indiana at the time Roscoe/Mike arrived at LSU about that very question. Why not have two Tigers in a facility that elaborate and that size as the habitat. My wife was all upset that he was going to be by himself in that big of a space and thought he should have a friend. So I emailed the director at that time.
His exact answer (I remember it like it was yesterday). Male Tigers are solitary animals. They do not crave companionship like humans. It is not an emotion they possess. The addition or introduction of another Tiger into the habitat causes both to stress out and worry about the other one as a threat. Why don't you do a little research before making a typical liberal extremist emotional statement that shows you have no idea what your talking about.

Why don't you sport one of those suits and go keep the next one company.

This is seriously awesome to know. I'm a woman -- In my mind we ALL need friends/companions and in my mind, I've asked the same question your wife did. So thanks for the info.

Any one on campus that can take and post a shot of flowers and cards at the habitat? I heard its quite a touching display.
Wish I could contribute.
Love you, Roscoe.

Pro tip: a simple google search will save you from looking like a complete idiot next time.
