I keep seeing people mention LSU getting screwed over by the SEC multiple times. Can somebody list some of these screw jobs? I know of a few like having Florida be our permanent SEC East rival even after expansion.

And I'm asking because I want to know. Thought there might be some historical stuff I didn't know about. Wasn't suggesting that the slights didn't exist. Tough crowd. Sheesh.

you do realize we've played Florida every season except 3 (4 counting this season) since 1953?

almost 40 years before there was even a such thing as an SEC East/West, let alone the current scheduling model.

They do a shitty job getting NCAA bids and seedings. Having to play Bama a second time was thievery.

Just the other night against Missouri we had multiple penalties missed. A face mask against DG and 2 on Chark, pass interference and facemask. Just watch replays of all our games and look at the officials eyes 90% of the time their eyes are on LSU, this is why nothing gets by them when we commit the smallest infraction and the opponent gets away with 2 face mask penelties and a PI. Our QB was hit going out of bounds and I've seen that called against us. Not only that but LSU always ends up on the short side of things.

I have one for you when was the last time LSU was on the positive side of a bad call or decision by SEC?? I also always see the refs spot our ball 1/2 yard behind where the ball actually was. Anything close isn't ever initially called for LSU but against ALWAYS. I was watching wa bama game after ours one night and LSU was much closer to scoring a TD when an elbow came down bf. It looked like a TD real time but was called down, went to review and confirmed. Same senerio with Bama happened that night except he came down 2 yards bf the end zone and was called a TD and didn't even look close in real time. This happens with USC, Ohio State, Michigan, all the big schools that have respect nationally. LSU is in that group but isn't awarded the benefit of the doubt and that's a fact. It's not a conspiracy it happens.

Who cares about listing them, I'm trying to figure out why they've chosen LSU of all the SEC teams to pick on and screw over all the time?

Declaring Travonte Valentine ineligible even though the NCAA had declared him eligible. One of many.

Having to play Bama twice had nothing to do with the SEC. You can blame Oklahoma St for that.

They scared. Always have been. By all accounts with the recruiting grounds in Louisiana, lack of in-State competition and the fanbase/alumni support and facilities LSU should be and should have been an SEC and National powerhouse since the beginning of time. We may be 8 feet tall watching the parade but everyone in front of us is 5 feet tall and standing on a ladder. With a sign.

Yeah of course I realize that. What I'm saying is that Florida was left as our cross division rival after expansion.

Two Words - "Bridge Schedule"

Just to remind everyone about the Bridge Schedule: The SEC decided that they needed to make changes to the schedules once they allowed aTm and Missouri into the SEC. So the SEC official in charge of scheduling, which is Bama grad, swapped Georgia from Bama's schedule with UK from LSU's schedule. That's the only changed he made. He claimed it was done for "balance".

so how does that screw us?

at the time of Expansion:
Alabama got Tennessee (who had been way more successful than Florida up that point).
Auburn got Georgia (who had been way more successful than Florida up to that point).
LSU got Florida.

up to then, Florida had 0 sec titles in their history and Spurrier hadn't even coached his first game for the Gators yet when the announcement was made.

Alabama was given the most historically successful program from the East.
Auburn was given #2 in historical success.
LSU was given #3.

How in the hell can anyone spin that to say it screwed LSU in favor of Bama?

No way in hell did anyone in 1990 know that Tennessee would go into the shitter 20 years down the road and Florida would become a juggernaut for a decade and a half.
