How successful would Bill Belichick be at a big time CFB program?

Let's say he decided he wanted to try the college game and got hired at a LSU or Texas or USC. Do you think he would create a dynasty on par with Saban or would he struggle to adapt to college football and all that comes with it

Belichick will look great in burnt orange. He's been spotted checking out houses at Lake Travis.

His system might be too much for college kids. Also, not sure how much he would enjoy recruiting.

He wouldn't be kissing arse to high school kids but he would be smart enough to get somebody else to do it for him.

A lot of people compare Saban and Belichick but they're two very different coaches. Do you know that the last time the Patriots finished the season ranked higher in total defense than total offense was 2006? And the last season they finished the season ranked higher in scoring defense than scoring offense was 2009. Plus I can't imagine a Saban coached team ever throwing the ball 56 times and running it 14 times in a close game like Belichick did against the Broncos last year.

Ehh he's kind of sloppy in regards to his cheating and he wouldn't have Kraft to save him in college.

I think that he would be dominant assuming that he could get some top tier recruiting coaches on staff. I think he is old enough now that he doesn't want to screw around with kids.

But he could definitely gameplan to destroy anyone in CFB if he had talent.

Everything runs through the quarterback. All plays have a run/pass option, line checks, mike calls, optional motions, and its a game plan offense that changes weekly.

It's ALOT of info for a pro qb to digest on a weekly basis, and they don't have to attend class. So for a college kid to do the same would be asking too much probably.

But Bill isn't stupid, and would most certainly alter the offense for a college team to remove some complexity.

For shits and giggles, imagine Popovich dealing with the drama in college basketball recruiting.

To be fair, when you are continuously finishing in the top 5 for scoring offense and snaps per game, it's tough for the defense to top that.

Belichick would dominate. He, more than any other coach in the history of the NFL, is able to take pieces and make it a functioning football team.
