The only reason the mainstream sports media are butthurt over Miles

Not because he's a good coach who got a raw deal.
It's because he's good for THEM. He's good to THEM. He's a lazy sports journalist's wet dream. He always does a pregame interview, halftime interview, postgame interview. He appears on ESPN at the drop of a hat. He moves the needle (did you hear--OMG HE ATE SOME GRASS HE'S SOOOOOOO CUH-RAZEE!)
They're not looking at it objectively. It just shows that only care about themselves and what matters to them.

If they love him so much then they can hire him and save LSU some money. Everyone wins.

It sounds like they ARE looking at it objectively. In fact, when I look at it objectively, you appear to be a numbskull who thinks the media should behave according to YOUR best interests instead of theirs.

Actually a lot of national writers are agreeing with LSU, even some that where very critical of last year's fiasco.
A lot basically say "CLM is a good guy but the program was regressing despite having good players."

The same media that was saying he should have been fired?

He needs to replace Corso on Gameday

These are the same idiots that were still calling him the Mad Hatter and such years since he'd consistently been anything other than predictably one-dimensional with zero risk taking.

It was amazing to see on the ESPN website the angst all the "professional" writers were having in saying that LSU fans were crazy to fire him and we would miss him way sooner than we thought, all the while literally a few stories beneath that story were the headlines of how Miles own stubborn and recalcitrant offensive scheme was his own undoing.
They were flat out contradicting themselves JUST so they could say "We told you so, you bunch of unskilled yet entitled Monday morning quarterbacks called LSU fans"
Well which is it geniuses at ESPN?

^This. Been saying this since I heard he was gone on sunday. Him next to corso for the rest of the season and then replace him after the season. Would love to see the mad hatter on the gameday desk.
Thanks CLM

.....and people outside the program are ok with LSU being mediocre.
Whats the big deal? Who does LSU think they are trying to compete for championships every year? Thats supposed to be for the Alabamas and Ohio States.

Take off the purple and gold glasses for a minute and think about the national, public perception. We fired a coach who averaged 10 wins a year in the SEC West. Plus we tortured him at the end of last season. Plus he was extremely well liked. And most importantly, we did it in the middle of the season. How do you think it looks to national sports media? It's very easy to trash us but it should have been pretty expected. There shouldn't be any real surprises. Scott Van Pelt... Ryen Russilo - so many people just flat out love the guy. It shouldn't really be shock city here.

When I saw Russillo yest he basically said he had no problem w/ LSU firing CLM. OTOH, Kanell thought the timing was bad in LSU firing him so early in the season. Most of the national media fall into one of two camps: 1. The less informed "he averaged nearly 10 wins a game/season" crowd who thinks LSU should've waited until the end of the season. 2. The more informed "the program has been deteriorating, especially in the SEC" crowd that better understands LSU's timing.

That is the purpose of the media, so yes.

He just completed the best decade of football in LSU program history; Miles didn't just get lucky for over 11 years.
He is a hall of fame coach and, since 2005, is considered the third best coach in the SEC; a period of time that includes Bama's dynasty and Urba/Tebow duel championships.
Les Miles deserved a better exit plan.

Exactly, I have said this for years. They know he is not a great game day coach or a respected x and o guy...its all about the figure head and his sound bites and the fact that is in not as arse to them like many coaches. Les is a class act.

I do not know what your work history is but I would call what happen to him, MORE THAN FAIR Warning and SELF inflicted

Pretty much. You fire a guy that people like onlookers are going to get a little bent out of shape about it. No reason to argue back at anyone, it'll pass. Arguing to others about it just makes the school and fanbase look more like jerks.
