No. Everything thinks Miles should have been fired.

Do I think it was time for him to go? Yes

Do I wish the circumstances surrounding his firing could have been different? Yes

Do I think the circumstances were necessary? Yes

Last year I thought he should have been told to fire Cam or they both go.

I am glad he's gone from a winning standpoint but sad to see such a good man go. Just wish he would have had the foresight to hire an innovative offensive coordinator.

I know some people that think it was a bad move, and that LSU cannot do any better.

I told them to shut their commie mouths.

The circumstances are not ideal, but rarely if ever they really are in this type of situation. Since he stayed to coach this year, thinking just about Miles it was actually better for him to do it now than later. Scoring 13 points a game this season was heading to a complete disaster. He ended up 2-0 at home, winning his last home game. He didn’t really feel an all-out negativity in Tiger Stadium. It saved him a lot of boos and negative moments. He still has a lot of good will gained through the years, the longer he stayed at this point the more negative the whole environment would have been.

Les Miles is a great person. I will really miss him being the face of LSU football.
It was time to go in another direction

To us it looks pretty clean cut. Unfortunately there was a whole lot of politics that played out in this. When Miles said today he did not fight it, was very telling.

I'm most happy for Coach Miles to be rid of LSU political crap he's been dealing with. And Saban knows all too well what Les has been dealing with.

I think people are going overboard, I'm enjoying those that say. "he should have never been hired."

I mean second most successful coach should have never been hired eh?

damn good coach that kept our program up there for more than a decade...but he had lost the fan base and was on the verge of losing the team, so it was time for a change.

Hell no! It's his own damn fault for not running Cam off and hiring a top notch OC and giving him the keys to fix the offense.

I believe the timing could have been better. He's a damn good head coach, he just needs to give up his offense 100% percent to an OC that can develop a QB. Guy can recruit but can't call plays worth a flip. Because of his inability to give up the offense and poor management, LSU had no other option.

He should have been fired and asked to coach the rest of the year.

I think Miles was heading in right direction. He changed QB's and that was great - even though this should have been done BEFORE season started. It was not his fault that LSU made turnovers, penalties, and missed field goals that cost him his job. That's all on the players. Saddest part of all was that we were running the ball effectively and should have kept running it! Sometimes you just can't win...... I will be surprised if we get a better coach in my lifetime. Numbers don't lie..... Geaux Tigers

I would have preferred that he had been told to step down at the end of the season. So, no, I don't think he should have been fired now.
