That's the best game (QBR wise) that Danny Etling has ever had in his career. Let it sink in.

Huh?

Have you seen his stats from Purdue?

great call. Their DL was killing our OL with the bull rush.

yea, and this is the number one reason we are not going to do well this year. this OL was better under Stud. it looks to me like it gets worse the longer Grimes is here.

Threw 33/49 for 485 yards and 4TDs as a freshman at Purdue.

It's better than Harris's stats from the 1st qtrs of both games.

Let that sink in! He's been playing for 3 yrs and took all the reps with the 1s

that was one quarter man. and did you look that up or are you just pulling it out of your arse.

regardless, even if true, it has zero bearing on the present situation. ZERO. it's his 4th year as a college QB and he deserves a chance due to his performance in that game.

why don't you get behind him and pull for LSU? is that too much to ask a fellow LSU fan. or are you an LSU fan? maybe you just are a whiner and complain about everything. no one thinks Etling is the greatest to play the game but his 6/14 was light years better than what we have been seeing.

Im trying to think of a pass that BH is capable of throwing

when he gets lucky on a deep pass because he has the arm strength to throw it that far

I hate that I have to be excited about a QB that can accurately and deftly throw a short pass.
I hate that I have to be excited about a QB that can stay in the pocket and step up when necessary, instead of immediately sprinting outside, making bad throws and making his offensive line completely ineffective.
I hate that I have to be excited about a QB that can read more than one deep in his progression.

I hate all those things, but I'm at least somewhat hopeful going forward; that is until BH trots out as our starting QB on Saturday...then all hope will crumble.

true, his overall game stats aren't great, but if you watched that second quarter and didn't understand that Etling is a competent QB, then you don't know what you're watching.

I nearly fell off the couch. I've been thinking for years that the screen was just not part of our offense or that we never could get the timing down or that our o-line tipped off the defense or whatever. Then we run a flawless screen play for a huge gain. That one play more than any other in the 2nd quarter highlighted the difference between Harris and Etling.

we run them, but just very rarely. oddly enough the almost always work, imagine that

That's actually not true. He had higher ones at Purdue. It was also with one of the shittiest teams in college football when he played.

The first option was open as soon as Dupree got a step on the coverage. He would have had to hold on an extra half to full second to check down to Williams.

He made the right decision. I won't even kill Malachi for the drop. It happens. Unlike the "drops" the previous week which were just horrible throws the Harris bootlickers were trying to put on the receivers.

In trying to defend Harris, Leslie Miles and the bootlickers probably got into the head of Dupree. I don't know if they don't know the collateral damage they cause or they simply don't care.

No doubt., up & down the line of players. You know there had to be more than a few utterances of- "c'mon man."
