read that correctly and can do some math, when she was close to 50-55 years old, she was trying to pull stunts with your taxes??
She was in her late 40''s. We had initially filed taxes jointly for the year we were together per lawyer's instructions. It was essentially a break even deal, which I try to aim for. Due to the complexities of the return it was going to take a little time to review. Evidently, there's a stack of those. Meanwhile. She figured that she could get a nice refund if she filed individually so she could go to Europe. She drove to an IRS office gave them a sob story and showed papers where we were seperated, although it was the calendar year after the one the return was filed on. Those ignorant bastards/birches helped her file an individual return which got processed faster and gave her a fair refund. By the time they got to mine things had gotten fricked up and the first missile got fired my way aping with a five figure bill for additional taxes and penalities. When I confronted her she acted like she couldn"t understand the big deal. Upon her return from Europe my lawyer had gotten things straightened put with the IRS, sent notice to her through her lawyer that the IRS would be contacting her. I could have haggled over making her pay my legal bills, but I knew she didn't have the money and at that point I just wanted snake in the grass out of my life. She is now 58 and living in Pittsburg with some loser old enough to be her father. I go out every now and then but there''s a lot to also be said for sitting in the den with the dog and a decent game or movie. At least the dog is loyal and trustworthy, and there is much to be said for living in peace these days.

Living well is the best revenge.
Indeed it is and over the last couple of years I have been. Took awhile to get my credit back.
My son got married this last May. The Defendant was bringing her boyfriend. I told no one I was bringing a date of my own other than my son. Could have smoked a $100 bill for the look on that bitch''s who saw me with this cute red head. Ex actually asked my date what she did for a living. Look on her face was worth another $200 bill when she nonchantly replied that she was an attorney. Ex and hers seemed to tried to avoid us for rest of night. Hadn't planned to but wound up stealing that bitch''s thunder.

could you expand on this. there are a couple of people in this thread who believe children almost always suffer as a result of parents divorcing

I had to have 3 lawyers for mine but I wasn't going to budge an inch for her or her momma.

For my divorce, I happened upon a lawyer who had previously gotten husbands alimony. While I certainly didn't need or want alimony, I figured with that kind of track record he would protect my interests. He did.

Yeah Texas is brutal for divorce.
Great state for divorce if you don't want to pay spousal support/maintenance.

Me ex's attorney mopped the whole court's floor with my arse. Just found out a few months ago that the bitch slayed two or three ex-husbands with the system.

I figured this is a dumb arse thread but how curious why it's still going on.... Every state is going to be obviously different also everyone is found to have a separated definition of success.
And to answer the question. OF COURSE there have been successful divorces, what kinda clown show shite you circle yourself with?

Yea, always known them as "failed marriages".....
But In 2016, losing in competitive sports is not "losing"...its "2nd place" or runner up so no shocker here
