Ok twice. Once where he benched the starter and put in the backup...and the other they were both about equal. And he only benched Lee after he threw 2 interceptions against Bama.
I never understood that. Lee throws two picks and is benched. Understood. JJ plays the worst 8 quarters of football I have ever seen in my life and is never benched. I don't understand.

gotta remender 2008 as well
people were calling for Jefferson for awhile before he made the switch

Well they will have competition all week for one thing

Yeah, let's blame him hard for receivers dropping good passes. Damn him for not wedging it in Jeter's face mask so it couldn't be dropped.
He really made MD look bad by hitting his hands like that. Do you think he cost MD a shot at the draft?
If he had completed 5 more passes....
Nah, just underthrowing malachi Dupree on 2 occasions, overthrowing the fullback wide open in the flat,,,,overthrowing 2 more receivers running intermediate route. Etling sparked the offense, but lets not pretend the guy was lights out.

I counted 3 bad, uncatchable throws
I'm not too concerned about that at the momment

The starter named himself in the second quarter last Saturday.
We can only hope...that's not the way it works, though, man. We're currently waiting on our head coach to show some leadership and name Etling the starter, which he may or may not do.
At this point, this is just another reason to fire Les. The JSU game has given us even more proof that Les needs to go. Etling should've been named starter in the spring, and Les needs to never interfere with any offense ever again. It only took Les interfering and presumably chirping in Etling's ear during half time, and Etling was already getting worse coming out of halftime. The whole thing is very reminiscent of Harris's New Mexico State performance and then immediate drop off in 2014.

2 catchable passes - I don't know of Jeter's was a clear drop, but Dupre's was, no question. And some of this may be related to adjustment to his delivery. He did have a couple of "Harris bad" passes, though, plus the interception which was pretty bad (although Dupre should have fought for it more, IMHO).
He does not have the deep ball that Harris does, but he appears to have everything else. He made smart decisions to run it on 2 occasions and they both resulted in really positive plays (including a score).

6-of-14 (0-for-6 in the second half) doesn't exactly solidify your position as a starter.
8 passes in second quarter to get a lead and 6 passes in second HALF to kill momentum. Miles almost wants some of his players to fail. Play calling sucked in the second half--PERIOD.
But, you keep cheering on your boy BHARRIS. Good luck with him. It's not his fault. This coaching staff continues to put talented QBs into an offense that does not fit them. Square pegs simply won't fit into round holes.
I suppose you think 25 passes for 139 and a ratio of two interceptions for every touchdown does solidify your boy Harris' position as the starter.

It does when the regular starter has to be pulled against Jacksonville St. for only completing 1 pass and not being able to move the offense at all.

I fully expect no starter to be named before game time just to make MSU game plan for both. Harris has had a game and a qtr to make his case and he did not do it. Miles will be ripped to shreds in the media if he starts Harris after this past game.

'm not sure there's any benefit to naming a starter publicly. Especially with the SEC schedule starting. I'm sure the team will know, but no sense telling Mississippi State.
At this point, Miss St will prepare for both regardless of what Miles says, or if he says nothing at all. There is no benefit one way or the other. So long as behind closed doors one QB knows today who will start, that matters the most to me. I don't care if we know or not.

It's probably a 2-QB team. Etling at least moved the offense on Saturday and used his feet at times (which Harris hasn't done this year). But it was Jax St. and who knows if Etling can perform similarly against SEC competition.
There were times when Harris played well last year (UF game against a good D was his best probably), so he does have the ability. But he has taken a step back based on his play early. But anyway, when it comes to LSU QBs under Miles, don't expect a clear answer.

Do you really think if Miles names one or the other today that State won't prepare for both?

he'll name a starter rigth after he gives us a clear explanation of whether LF7 is cleared and ready to play

MSU's game plan if Harris starts: play your second string defense so that your first string defense will be rested for when Etling inevitably comes in to replace Harris.
MSU's game plan if Etling starts: do what Wisky's defense did the whole game and what JSU's defense did int he second half, because LSU will come out in 2 WR sets regardless of who starts.
Reality: Les starts Harris, and the media does what they always do when Les does the exact opposite of what EVERYONE knows he should do in order to win and make the team better - NOTHING!

He probably won't make MSU prepare for both. Of course there's not much to prepare for when it's the same shite for the last 5 years.

With Etling in we were 7 for 9 on 3rd down. That is all I need to see.

In Jeter's defense he had a defender hanging on him, slapping him and humping his leg. The ball went through his hands and hit him in the helmet.
It was interference but they didn't call it.

Tre White says Les Miles didn't meet with the team today to discuss the #LSU QB situation. (2 hours ago)
