pop a line 48" up on all exterior walls that aren't brick and cut the exterior walls out exposing everything to the elements. Tell him you were just trying to help!!

you may want to read that lease agreement to see what happens at the end of your lease.

Sorry you're getting treated so poorly.

Either lawyer up or move out. Those care your options. You could sue him but, that will take time and no guarantees.

Concrete in the toilets is an option.

Pay some home depot workers $100 each to fill the entire house back up with wet sheetrock and debris.

Ask him if he really wants to deal with going to court right now.

Make amends any way you can if you want to stay. Contact FEMA for rental assistance or do whatever you need to do to get through this. This is no time for pride or legalities.

Your landlord realizes that you have done most of his work and that his expense to finish it will be minimal. Due to the financial hit he took on the floods he is desperate to recoup some of his losses.

If you go away, he can put the new flooring in and rent his house for about 150% of what you now pay. In his mind it is win/win because his recent financial arse-kicking does not have him thinking straight.

You are going to have to leave but you still need some satisfaction. Have your boyfriend get a 1/16th inch drill bit for his cordless and go on the roof and drill about 200 holes before you leave.

The water damage you fixed will return. You need to do this when there is no forecast of rain for about a week. (Good luck with that part.

go through the whole process they can evict but it will take weeks. Plus he has to repay you for work you did on his property.

Lawyer up.

Frankly I'd say dick him over, but he has you by the balls. How much would your rent go up if you had to move?

Then again, if he's already been a dick he'll probably continue to do so so maybe you should start looking for a new place now.

The other issue is that your new landlord if he's decent will get a reference and you won't have one if you don't pay up. Tough call. Dealing with this guy until you find a new place may be your cheapest option right now.

Bad situation all around.

Sounds like he wanted a liability waiver.

The eviction process takes several weeks and is not automatic. A judge will oversee and hear from both sides.

I would not like a tenant in a flooded property of mine until it was fixed. And it is likely hard to fix being occupied.

Better see about relocating. And stay for several weeks to offset your costs.

Just my two cents.

I think you are right. I should send a bill for the real costs incurred. I got a friend who is an AC guy to fix the ac for me. i should submit an invoice to them with what the non friend cost would be along with the real costs of MY labor and the other things.
