Stuff won't hit the fan until SEC title goals are off the table

Let's face it: LSU has the talent to crank out at least 9 more wins. The goal of winning the SEC is still attainable. As a result, the goal of getting to the playoffs is still attainable. Until those goals are no longer on the table, you won't see any wheels in motion as it relates to replacing Miles.
Despite all the doom and gloom, It's still a wait and see situation.

You are probably right, but that is sad. We've waited and seen for years.

That's the thing. Most people simply don't expect this to be a "wait and see" situation much longer.

100% agree.
It could happen, Miles would be the guy to do it. But something about Saturday just says this team is not going to be very good.
I'd be fine with being wrong on that

And my point has been that 9-3 may be the worst case scenario, because it increases the likelihood we keep Les AND it confirms in his mind that his way is the right way, dooming us to losing seasons after this year's upperclassmen leave.

Correct, you won't see them. But they are already in motion. After last year's fiasco, it will be handled differently. No comments until the end and then they'll try to talk Miles into retiring to avoid another circus. The people who wanted Miles out last year are only gaining more motivation and support.
Jimbo and Harmon have already been talked to during the off-season. Not saying they're coming, but boosters have been cozying up to them ever since end of last season.

So Chicken what is now your opinion on Miles? You still support him? I know last year you did.

I agree. Unless Jax St wins
It's going to be crazy here is LSU squeeks one out too. The hottest seat in the country will get hotter.

Maybe not until his contract is closer to ended as well considering the events from last November.

Right. I'm as annoyed with the way we played as anyone but at the end of the day it wasn't a conference game. Winning cures all and we have an opportunity to turn things around.

I agree.
But, I was on the "Pro-Les" side of the ledger until Saturday. After what occurred to endl last season, almost fired, etc...to come out of the gate with THAT game moved me to the Les needs to go side.
I do not expect him to be "fired" now. I agree with your assessment. But, I do believe it is time (at end of season or at elimination of goal attainment) to move on.

The team I saw on Saturday has no chance of competing in the SEC. My question is how bad it gets after we lose to Auburn and Florida. Does the team quit? If so, what's next?
Posted on 9/6/16 at 8:28 am to Chicken
Yeah, but if he does lose more.. it will get bad.
LSU has @ auburn, and @uf coming up

Chicken, I respectfully disagree. I think the straw broke the camel's back Saturday. It is now irrefutable that LSU Football is "Groundhog's Day".
I think you are right in that if Miles wins the SEC this year, he is retained. Short of winning the SEC, he is done.
I think there is a very real possibility that before the second week in October, it is a foregone conclusion that Miles will be fired.

I concur. Realistically, Les has earned his right to ride off into the sunset. (Which is what the last regular season game was supposed to be), but if the goals aren't attained, I expect him to either come out on his own and step away, or if he won't do that, flat-out be fired.

not by scoring 7 offensive points

It might as well be off the table. Wisconsin is about as bad as Vanderbilt and South Carolina.

Agreed. As frustrated as I am after seeing the crap product we saw on Saturday, IMO, we need to rally around the team/support them as best we can...because there is still a lot of ball to be played. Hopefully there is a turn around (and quick) and the team can still achieve their goals.
