Try and keep everyone for recruiting reasons except Cameron and hire anyone and I mean anyone who is young and offensive minded.

Herman (it's gonna take a brings truck)
Gundy (I think he would leave)
Shaw (would he leave stanford)
Kiffin (makes subpar QB's look like stars)
Dykes (would definitely come back to Louisiana)
Applwhite (young offensive mind)
Lincoln Riley (saved Stoops job at OU)
Wilson (players coach 1 yr at UTSA)

Art Briles. Get it done. Perfect timing for him and LSU. He has about 5 years of coaching left, maybe a little more, and he brings the exact offense LSU fans die for, and we have the defensive tradition.

Somebody tell me why Gundy is so popular. He hasn't done anything at OSU without Holgrosen as his OC.

We don't want to run the air raid.

Briles brings too much baggage and craptastic defense

He'd have an established defensive culture at LSU. It would be a completely different thing for him at LSU.

Do you realize how bad Baylor was in all phases of the game before Briles?

You are right.... we need an a-hole! Someone that has some fire and isn't old school SEC (run it right down the gut). I like Kiffen, Art, No way we get Herman (he has a great thing going there)... hell, i saw Payton Manning listed above... why not?!?!

yeah, people in LA are dying for an explosive type offense after suffering all those years under a Les Miles led offense. And I'm sure Briles would keep a top DC like Aranda and most of the top recruiters there at LSU.

I always thought Briles seemed like a good, down to earth guy. I think he was just caught in a shitty situation and made a couple poor choices. I don't think he tried to actively cover up a girl getting raped. I'd have no problem LSU hiring him.

First year HC...let's see how he does against Michigan next wee

UCF would get peckerslammed by Michigan no matter who the coach is.

You just want to see if he's running that program in the right direction.

Shaw would be a home run hire. Doubt he leaves Stanford to coach down south, but hey, we convinced Trent Johnson!!
Not really sure Herman would seriously consider an offer since the landscape could see Houston in the Big 12 soon.
Fisher would suit me fine with the above mentioned.
Right now I doubt we could get any of them. Four months from now the story could change considerably. Les looked utterly defeated at the post game presser, and he may be running on fumes. Hard to imagine this will not end sadly, but his refusal to embrace change is on him.

Justin Fuente may possibly warrant some consideration. He performed miracles at Memphis. This is his first year at Virginia Tech. He's the main reason I have them penciled in as a dark horse candidate to make the ACC Championship game.

BrileSo? You have got to be fricking kidding. He's an absolute disaster. He should never be on this list. And he wouldn't win here. He plays 0 defense.

Herman was my number one choice last year. But my short list is 1.Herman
2.Fedora
3.Kiffin I think he's ready after learning under Saban the last couple of years.

Fuente is another one that I thought of, but would he leave VT after one year, and how much is he making there?

And Jesus Christ, for those of you saying Briles, open your fricking eyes. He's 60 years old and just got fired from Baylor for covering up rape. Y'all want to slam Alleva for the PR firestorm last November brought, and still being in Briles? That would make us look a million times worse than last November.

Also, Kirk Ferentz isn't leaving Iowa.

You must be the frickin idiot that just came along and down voted everyone talking about Briles. I just like to know how you clowns figure this man is a disaster and douche all that crap you been spouting out about this man?? The man is a great offensive minded coach and as I said earlier would probably keep Aranda or bring in a top DC to keep LSU's tradition of defense going. But as of lately that defensive tradition has taken a hit because it hasn't been that great.

Jimbo would be way better than what we have now. He has coached in the SEC and at LSU, won SEC Championships and a NC as a coach in the SEC, and he gets great recruits (and already knows the recruiting area).

Never won the sec as a head coach, has lost to the likes of NC state and wake forrest as ahead coach, and FSU recruited well way before Jimbo ever got there. Florida is loaded with talent, they have quadruple the talent Louisiana has.

Let's see how this team does this year without the first pic in the draft. They didn't do so well last season without him.

I personally just don't think it's as bad as they say. And a defensive culture is in place at LSU so him being our headcoach wouldn't really hurt our defense in my opinion. He is getting old though..

I liked Briles, but he has a big ? Looming over him and very bad pr. He also isn't young. And i couldn't stand LSU not playing solid defense so he would have to make that a priority.

Briles is dirty, back to HS coaching days. It's no surprise to Those that have followed his career that he got caught up in scandal

Again, Briles and Kiffin will not even get consideration at LSU.
