Who is on your HC short list?

Here is mine:
1. Tom Herman
2. Jimbo Fisher
3. Lane Kiffen (yup I said it)
4. Dave Aranda? I wouldn't totally rule it out.
Obviously this discussion is elementary and only in theory after Week 1.

I'm probably one of the few but I'm completely against jimbo any of the other 4 and basically any other coach in the nation will be better than les

I think we are very premature but like him or not...I know he can be a turd...but Bobby Petrino is still doing great with mediocre talent.
I think Herman is a pipe-dream and Jimbo's ship has sailed. Briles would be a good hire as well.

I honestly wouldn't mind Lane Kiffin. Screw it. Lane would be perfect to get the offense back to relevance and I like where Aranda is seeming to take our defense. It was the first game in the new system and they looked pretty strong with some turnovers.

Tom Herman seems like such a long shot, just re-upped and he said enough to retain all his assistants. In other words, he and his staff are out to build something.
That being said... I know I'm going to get hammered over these:
1. As a short-term "transition into the next era": Kirk Ferentz
2. A personal fav, if we're going to just bite the bullet and make the next hire with the next 5-10 years in sight: Mike Bloomgren
I think if they make a Herman or Bloomgren type hire, hopefully the Oregeron's and Aranda's will stay.

I would have to think Aranda was brought in to be a likely successor. I think he will do a good job with the defense with time.
My only reservation about him just being moved up to Head Coach is the fact he probably has few recruiting connections down here.
Tom Herman would be #1 candidate imo.
