LSP checking where you are heading on Bluff Rd @C. Braud Rd. Water is creeping onto Bluff Rd. If it comes up much more they'll probably close the road.

I just left my neighborhood and went south over I-10. Bluff is closed just past Alligator Bayou Rd.

Awesome. This is my street. I'm the 2nd house from the back on the south side. I'm at work but will be there shortly to help.

Updated the projection. Crest at 13.01 ft at 12:18 am tomorrow 8/19.

It'll be interesting to see how the Bayou Manchac/Alligator Bayou gauge trends in the next few hours. The past few hours it's dropped .02 ft/hr, which is faster than it was dropping yesterday.

Another poster (maybe from the pinned flood thread) stated that he though that are represents about 25% of the 17000 acre swamp.

The worst case scenario I think is that part of the swamp acts as a giant buffer and it ends up holding >14' long enough for the Spanish Lake side to go a few more inches above 13'

Looks like they may be adding another gauge for Alligator Bayou. No readings yet.

I saw that. Must be getting ready to gauge the flow back to the Amite, and maybe use it to adjust during the pumping operations. Likely had to get it a little further south away from the head-wall of the locks to get more accurate readings.

No measurable change at the front of ridge road between 10am and 11am

I don't wanna get excited too early, but I'm fricking excited. One of my uncles is way in the back, behind a hell of a sandbag berm, and has been hanging tough for 3 days so far. Rooting for him more than anyone.
