coaching tenure in the NFL? I thought Saban was bad but this guy is flat out a loser and a quitter. He didn't even make it through an entire season. Glad to see the Hog fans so happy that Petrino is running to them with his tail between his legs.

He lasted just as long as Lou Holtz did with the Jets. Both were 3-10 and quit before the season was over.

Well he had a QB when he took the job...then he decided he'd take on a hobby of dogkilling...

I think that is just an excuse for him coaching worse than Mora. A lot of teams in the NFL are lacking in the QB position and it does not necessarily make the entire team sucks. Petrino was a bad hire for the Falcons in the first place. I wish the PIggies luck with him.

You will take him, I understand that. But how on earth can he sit up there at the press conference and smile and act like everything is just peaches. He ought to be embarassed to show his face. The cornerback from the Falcons just slammed him and basically said Arkansas sucks and can't compete with UGA and LSU. He basicallycalled him a quitter and said if he ever saw him on the street he would have nothing to say to him.

Petrino coached a team who had ABSOLUTELY NO COMPETITION in the conference when he coached and basically played noone outside the conference. I am not sold on the guy at all.

what i don't get is...

he was probably going to get 'his' QB in brohm in the draft.

i thought he might tough it out to see how he could do w/a qb that could run his system to perfection.

then again, it may be his system that just can't work in the NFL...whatever system that is.

IMO, Miles needs to hurry up and get tenuta before this guy does.

I also feel even more confident than I did earlier about getting tenuta now that belowpar has confirmed Les has spoken to him. Guy has been pretty accurate so far

Pete McCulley was fired after starting out 1-8 with San Francisco in 1978, and Sid Gillman lasted only 10 games in his second stint as San Diego coach, going 4-6 in 1971 before quitting.
