Have none of you met a real Muslim? They're pretty normal people. The extreme of any religion ends in bad news, Islam is no exception. They hate us because we are the only thing keeping Israel a country. Which we should continue to do. There's not much of a solution without a compromise between Israel and "Palestine"

I live by and work with several Muslims. They don't go to a church. It's a cultural thing to them more than anything. It's not much of a religion. Maybe a cult.

Congrats on the upcoming workplace violence. Are you afraid to eat bacon at work?

edit: we argued about sports sometimes, but he was more interested in European league soccer than football.
He was a great officemate.
Our current office administrator is Muslim and we sometimes order catered lunches. He has no problem ordering food with pork, he just doesn't eat it himself. This has been my experience with Muslims--they don't care what you eat, they just aren't going to eat something that's haram. And the rules are fairly relaxed for them--if they eat something without realizing it was haram, it's not considered sinful.

I’ve got one good buddy that is a Muslim and he’s normal as hell. Born in the US, went to Vanderbilt, big basketball fan and enjoys partying with the best of us.
He is very moderate obviously, but he still doesn’t eat pork and observes Ramadan. His parents had an arranged marriage and come from Pakistan and made a ton of money in the most cliché way possible…owning several gas stations
But, point is, he’s very normal and a great guy. It’s interesting to hear his opinion on this terrorist shite. He hates them more than we do because it makes his life a shite ton harder from the backlash. He gets heated about it and understands why people distrust Muslims. It’s a tough position to be in I’m sure.

Pork thing is overblown. My friend does not care about pork being around him in the least and sometimes cheats and eats bacon.

quote:Yep this similar to what I've observed, but I haven't personally known any Muslims who cheat on the pork thing. They don't care who else eats it, whether it's in the same room with them, or whatever. The rule is simply that they don't eat it themselves. Beyond that, they don't give a frick. It's the exact same thing with all the Jewish people I know who observe kosher rules (which is most of the ones I've met). Dietary rules for Muslims seem less complicated than for Jews, actually.

They are NOT normal if their holy book tells them that killing Jews will get them to paradise.
The 'normal' Muslims, as you call them, are like Baptists who drink and dance on Friday or Saturday night, then show up at the church on Sunday.

I don't think a black guy has the right to be judging another demographic/race on violence at the moment...

Never understood the pork thing. Why are they considered unclean? Because they lay around in mud?

Keeping pigs and selling them at market is also really dirty business. It's relatively cleaner to keep and sell other livestock and poultry. So maybe that's where the view that pigs are unclean came from.
But this is all speculation. Who knows.

I thought pigs were cleaner as far as shite/piss than other animals? Don't they walk away from where they lay down/eat to do their business?
Poultry is fricking nasty and cows will shite and just lay down in it.
Whatever, just thought it was weird. Pigs don't seem any grosser to me than 500,000 chickens in a warehouse. Birds are gross.

Well, when that so called religion stops waging war on us, then it will be free to practice, like all of he other civilized religions. Even paganism and devil worshipping is allowed, maybe not respected, but tolerated to some extent, reason being.... They don't attack us.
