looking for 8/31 - 9/4.

I've tried the usual sites and even skiplagged, but not much is available.

Stayed in Comfort Suites in a corner room high up overlooking Mag Mile. I know I know, Comfort Suites, but it was seriously really nice and spacey and the bedroom was surrounded by glass. Give them a try, I was VERY pleased.

The Marriott just went through a renovation and it's a nice place. Some of the rooms are tiny though. Very modernized and great location though.

What is your definition of "near"? There is a best Western on West Ohio (River North) that is about 5-6 blocks off Michigan Ave.

Stayed at Hampton downtown. Wasn't bad, but didn't have a fridge or microwave. Short walk to riverwalk area, Mag Mile, and subway entrance.

try vrbo/homeaway

some really nice condos, with great sight lines being rented for days/week/weeks.

I stayed at the Essex Inn on the south end of the Magnificent Mile on Michigan Ave. It is a renovated older building so it was cheaper than others in the area. It was right by the Red Line station. Worked for us.

The Palmer House (Hilton) is very close to the MM, and the train is pretty much next to the hotel.

Hotel's okay, but since this is about location for you, I don't think you'll do better in that department.

The Palmer House (Hilton)

My wife and I stayed here couple of years ago and were pleased. Plenty nice and they bumped us to an upgraded room on arrival. Reasonably close to everything.

AC Hotel Chicago Downtown. Stayed a couple of months ago. Very convenient and reasonable. It is a Marriott property.

I always stay at the Allerton on Michigan. It's older, so the rooms are smaller but it's a perfect location. I think you can get s pretty good deal on Hotwire or Priceline, that's what we did when we when last year.

We usually stay at the Omni down there. We are going to be in Chicago 1 night that Wednesday. We're flying out early the next day to Green Bay so we're gonna stay out by the airport since we have to be at the airport by 8am.
